August 27, 20242 yr There is a new rule that allows teams to designate two players on IR at final cuts who won’t be out for the entire season but will have to miss only four weeks and won’t count against the 53.

Why doesn't the NFL simply identify this as the Mystery Injury Stash? lol

This way you just make the move right away. And those specific position players that will replace the 2 guys on PUP can just stay on the 53 for the start. Now it adds another date to pay attention in 4 weeks when each team may have to cut 2 guys. Also gives teams until after the October 1st game to make the decision... either the player stays on IR for the season if the injury is bad enough, or maybe they decide to cut someone else that the guys they would have today? For us, I'm assuming Sydney Brown will be one of those guys. Whoever was going to have to get cut to make room for him, won't have to be now. Brown isn't a mystery stash.

August 27, 20242 yr I see a lot of hand wringing about Nolan Smith I'm not ready to give up on him just yet. I seem to remember a #55 who many of us thought would be a bust

I seem to remember a #55 who many of us thought would be a bust I had the game on in the background Saturday... tried to watch DeJean and all pro QB McKee that everyone was raving about. Didn't realize Smith was playing, but then saw some replays ... seemed like people complaining about runs going away from him and coverages where they threw somewhere else. I mean, you can't just go off script and make plays across the field and leave your assignment? Seems like a lot of the usual complaining....plus you know Reggie White, I mean hall of famer Hasson Reddick stans all have their panties in a bunch with him gone.

Nolan just doesn’t have any moves and isn’t durable while being undersized.
