Preach... Howie is no John Lynch, he will never catch up in SB wins.

Niners thankfully haven’t been racking up SB wins. Its become an afterthought the NFC title goes through the Niners every year though.

Alshon contract

Set us back for decades.... unlike how SF wasn't hurt at all by Garrapolo's deal or Dallas from Romo or Dak.   The Eagles will never recover from that Alshon contract, as you have seen they can't sign any free agents.

They host the game every year it seems?

BTW... why would it matter if the 49ers beat KC either time?    doesn't do anything for Eagles fans either way!

Were still paying for Alshon when  trying to win a SB two seasons ago

I just can’t understand how you hold Rosie up on such a pedestal as being so brilliant as a GM… While banging on the Niners and Cowboys for being so terrible?

So much more brilliant than how Rosie decided to throw that money at Bradberry and Slay

Had a deal in place for Gardner Johnson last season even with the Bradberry and Slay signings essentially keeping our top guys.

Johnson thought he could make more money which he didn’t signed for less to play for Detroit and now he is back with us for less I believe then our original offer from last year.

Other factors involved the just paying guys

Or.... we could just hate Howie and never give him credit for anything?   It's easier Ham's way.   Howie bad Hurts good.  Then you cam just make all your posts accordingly.

Interesting about " the collapse"

since the 10-1 ... SF, Dallas, Seattle, NYG, AZ, NYG... playoffs vs Tampa

from my standpoint AJ has been the most impactful player on offense, especially against the better defenses.  The true #1 WR that opens up everything else for all his teammates. You can debate, I'll just point out Steichen  was owned by Tampa without AJ... same result last year.

So... I'm looking to isolate the 5 games after the 10-1 start... the ones where we were still playing as the division leader

Our points that we put up

SF = 19   (they gave up 17.5 per game)

Dallas = 13  (they gave up 18.5)

Seattle = 17  (they gave up 23.6)

NYG = 33 (they gave up 23.9)

AZ = 31  (they gave up 26.8)

113 points in that 5 game stretch... 22.6 per game.... would have made us 12th in scoring offense in the entire league as a season average

Defense

SF = 42  (they averaged 28.9)

Dallas = 33 (their avg = 29.9)

Seattle = 20  (their avg 21.4)

NYG = 25 (their avg = 15.6)

AZ = 35 (their avg 19.4)

155 points in 5 games ... 31 points per.      Washington was the worst D giving up 30.5 per game

3 of the 5 games at the start of " the collapse" we scored more points than the opposing D's average given up  ... they give up 110.3, we scored 113

4 of the 5 games we gave up more points than the opposing offense averaged ...  gave up 155 their average was 115.2

To me, it was set up for the losses to SF and Dallas... coming off two physical games, they both had 3 extra days rest and preparation, plus a revenge factor.     Seattle was late travel back from Dallas and then cross country trip.. things always go weird there.     The Giants game was really flukey that it was that close, we dominated.

But the telling game to me was AZ.  35-31 loss... giving up 449 yards, 228 on the ground and they didn't punt.  That was physical domination after we we were coming off a divisional win at home.  Even with that 35 points, the Cards still only averaged 19.4 points per game.  Just brutal defense.

Not sure it's rocket science or any behind the scenes soap opera stuff... we put up 31... even if you say it was just 24 from the Brown INT return.. they still held the ball 40 minutes and we only punted twice.  bUt the rElaTionShip bEtweeEn hUrTs and siRi ... lol  The team was shot, and lacked the depth.  They were done.

It's 2024 now... looked in the mirror, made some changes, got reinforcements...and we go from here.

I'm good moving on because I just didn't see it as much more than our team running out of gas and just not being that good... once AJ was out that was it.  No chance regardless if Lombardi was the coach with Walsh as OC and Bud Carson as DC.  That 2023 was done and the AZ game showed it.

I just am realistic and see things how they are. He does plenty of very good things. But he has issues that get in the way also. I’m not the one that slurps up everything Rosie does as a GM then bashes the job performance of the Niners and cowboys GMs. We are one game difference every single year over winning the East with the cowboys. Niners are in the NFC Championship game every year.

Lions play 14 of their games inside.

No excuses for QB1 not to light it up on offense this year. Top 3 WR, top 12 WR, top 5 RB, top 10 TE, oline is still one of the best in the league, legit threat at WR3. Moore has had the number 1 offense in the league twice. Show that he's worth 255 mil

Shipley should be ahead of Gainwell on the depth chart. He'll be RB2 by week 8

That would be huge... compared to an absolute zero from RB 3 spot!

WR 3... and legit RB3 too.

Shipley has looked good in the PS. I've watched a ton of him at Clemson also. Kid can play. Also can block. He's showed that in the PS

Or.... follow me here... you could realize that talking about one specific aspect of the job... $alary cap management ... he does well.

Does it have to be perfect?   Or... does it have to be compared to the other 31 jobs done by the other teams.

Wouldn’t Mims have been a good slot option for no draft pucks and a cheap contract?

Yep, IDK if he would be better than Dotson.

Hurts getting AJ to force his way out of Tenn has changed this franchises trajectory for sure

Not like I think he’s the worst by any means. But his style gets in his own way also. I think huge props go out to Lurie. He’s the one that allows Rosie to be able to do things the way he does. Because Lurie has to be comfortable putting all that money out there. All guaranteed money for players has to be sitting in a special account.

Hurts did not get AJ to force his way out. Tennessee did not want to pay him

STOP Using LOGIC or FACTS. We all know Hurts has brought this team back every year he's been here. Just AMAZING! 🤣
