Howie gets deals done early. He knows the price will keep going up. Smart business

He backloads contracts so heavy after he signs many deals early. So during our SB run in 2022 we have tons of the cap paying for the 4 win team in 2020. Brilliant!
He does good and bad.

He believes in LB and S…so very clearly different. According to you….the fact we’ve been lead by Hurts he hasn’t done any better at QB.

Preach brother!!!

Titans were negotiating with him the whole time. Until Hurts worked out with AJ. Told Rosie all about it. Then suddenly AJ broke off all negotiations with the Titans.

Who shot JFK.... you must know this too?

Dude.... come on... that was all Hurts.  He snuck into the owners bedroom at night and played recordings of " don't pay AJ, don't pay AJ" while he was sleeping ....and boom all of a sudden AJ became available.   Howie had nothing to do with that..as we all know he just doesn't work much,  too lazy to make calls.

All Hurts there.

Except he was negotiating an extension with AJ…which isn’t won’t pay him clearly.

So what...Howie didn't get Patrick Queen.

Lol. So what...he was able to trade up for Devonta. Traded down to the saints for their 1st that year, 1st the following year and a 2nd or 3rd the year after (can't remember)... used that to draft Carter.  He got a 1st for Bradford and a 1st for Wentz

That's not true. They were far apart on money. Tennessee didn't want to pay what AJ was asking

Just bad....  because you can't have dead cap.   Like take Maddox for example....sure he saved a bunch of cap space by releasing him and then signing him back cheap.... but the dead cap number went up...   cap space isn't as important as keeping your dead cap low.  Like look at Dallas... who cares if they can't sign free agents ... they have low dead cap.

Traded up for DeVinta giving the Cowboys an extra pick for them to still take their same guy in Micah Parsons

Always in big contracts there should be some hard negotiations over such large figures and details. They weren’t done negotiating with AJ …but after he learned he could play with his buddy and that we were totally desperate for a WR snd would pay..,he ceased negotiating with Titans.

We tried to go several other routes striking out for a WR that offseason. Hurts saved us by bringing AJ in the fold by getting him to force his way out.

What... no way.... it was Hurts.  Nobody knew this....there was never a meeting discussion possible targets who other teams would possibly look to unload.  Howie never does that.

When did you ever hear anything about Howie making calls around the league constantly discussing players?  All you hear about Howie is he plays a lot of golf.

For instance.... Patrick Queen was available.  You may doubt this because Baltimore never mentioned it nor seemed like they were all in last year...and just because they have a history of getting comp picks after letting contracts play out....but Ham had the inside info...Howie never called Baltimore or any other team.   Thankfully Hurts got him to call Tennessee.  Lazy GM...bow down to the master Lynch!

Awful moves...he passed up on the trade down offer in 2022 and could have gotten the safety Dax from Cincy.... we lost the SB because of that.  Ham will educate why the Saints trade was bad.

The Eagles have never recovered from the Malik Jackson contract... they need to make smart decisions like Dallas did tagging Pollard ... very well spent $10.7 mil of cap space.  Ham will tell you.

So much more brilliant than how Rosie decided to throw that money at Bradberry and Slay. The great decisions to completely neglect that third WR spot, S room and LB room last season(not the only season for sure). Pretty clearly cowboys were a much better team than us last season…with all their terrible decisions and Rosie’s brilliant decisions. Every year it comes down to one single game difference between us and them for the East.

How about Rosie’s smart decisions last season dealing with the coaches? Those are a thousand times worse decisions than Jones paying Pollard.

Whole group

Whole group of solid S in that class that have proven to be good ball players. Clearly not a bad idea at all that we could have traded back for a S instead. How was our coverage and tackling in that SB? Yeah.. looked like we could have used a good S to bring home the parade to me. How about last season…did we need a S? Still this season. Win the SB and have the S still balling today…doesn’t seem like a bad plan at all still. You know…unless you’re just happy not winning it all.

Malik was all they could afford on that obviously downward spiral we were caught up with the backloaded contracts piling up in the team. DJax too. Gotta manage that salary cap.

Alshon contract

Agree.. they need to look how they had that elite LB and S in 2011.  Dream Team...." the defense that was built to play with a lead"  because the score never starts 0-0.

Preach... Howie is no John Lynch, he will never catch up in SB wins.

We have a good team lined up for this season. We get some luck we can make some noise.
