I was backpacking around Europe, was in a small town in Germany called Murnau having a weiss  beer and weiss brat for breakfast when I read the story about Pelle in the Herald Tribune.  I didn't believe it so I went to a pay phone and made an international call to my friend to confirm.  Sad sad day.  I rented a bike and went to a lake.  Picked a couple ears of corn from a field that I passed and discovered it was feed corn when I tried to eat them that n isn't in the youth hostel.   Fall of 1985.  The things we remember.....

the Brits don't normally eat corn but a farmer just outside the American base at RAF Bentwaters England  started growing sweet corn to sell to the Americans. He made a fortune and it was some of the best sweet corn i ever had.

My guess, just basing off their trends in building the roster, is they will try to extend Barnett during the season with hopes he does break out.    If he has a big season he walks as a free agent next year and they replace him in the draft.

I hope they do extend him.

I think Barnett is under valued. People love what Graham has done the last 6 years here. If you look at Barnett in his limited time, he has stats very similar to Grahams avg. 5 Sacks his rookie year as a backup, 2.5 in only 6 games in 2018 and 6.5 in 14 games in 2019. 25 QB pressures in 2019 as well with 2 FFs. Very good run stopper as well. Graham wasn't even at that level his first few years. They were both drafted around the same area in the first round.

Im hoping they do keep Barnett. A full season as a stater will show he wasn't a bad draft pick. I think a different DC with a more creative pressure scheme will make him thrive as well.

But Barnett is the opposite of a very good run stopper. When he doesnt bring pass rush ability and cant stop the run... hes not under valued.

Id have to disagree, I look at Barnett and see a very similar player to Graham. If Barnett played the final 3 games, him and Graham were on pace to have identical stats. Only 2 sacks, 10 tackles and 4 pressures behind. 3 Games is a big difference. Calculated Avg per game Barnett was right there on his tail.

Well now that's a terrible negotiation strategy

Good news.  Probably the leader of the D and green dot player this year.  Expect T J to be a possible back up at green dot.  Will be interesting to see.

Of course he’s a moron. Like these athletes opting out actually believe they are bigger than the game or the game will stop without them. Are they suggesting that? No. Not at all. They’re saying their health (and their family’s health) is bigger than the game. And the college athletes are putting their health, potential careers, etc ahead of college football, which they should.

I would figure Kansas City might be attractive to him.  AR and that is where the US soccer facility is,located, I think.

I have no clue what comment from what player Sanders was replying to exactly or if he was just randomly making a quote. I don't think any of the players feel they are above the game as well. Was a very strange comment from him unless it was a direct reply to one players comments.

Sanders' overall point was 100% valid, regardless of how he presented it.  As far as keeping a roster spot vs being a roster casualty for financial reasons the NFL is the most cut-throat business in sports.  If someone else steps in for you for an entire season and does it cheaper than you, your roster spot is in jeopardy.

I don't agree with his assertion that some guys feel the game 'needs them', etc. but the game is bigger than any one player, and their career is over a lot sooner than they think.  Very few established veteran players decided to opt out, because they know their spot can be taken very quickly.

Sure, but I 100 percent guarantee any player that opted out took that very heavily into consideration.

Deion was just an old dope yelling at a cloud but acting like he was dropping something profound.

Yup, he's a station-turner ..... when his segment comes on NFLN I turn the station.

I wish the network would show less Deion and MJD, and more McGuinest and Charles Davis

Interesting.  I focused on Jones and Maddox and their ability to play outside, inside. He looked at it from the S position.  All four Ss have that ability.

Don’t worry. Neon has guaranteed he will be a D1 head coach in 2021, so you only have another year of his garbage. I mean, he guaranteed it so it has to happen right?  What D1 program in need of a head coach could turn that down?  After all, look at all his coaching experience for his son’s high school as their offensive coordinator.  How could a D1 school pass that up?  It’s the natural progression, high school OC to D1 head coach. Look at all the coaches that took the same path.

Graham had valid reasons for his slow start between injuries and coaching changes. What's barnett's excuse?

Barnett was injured more then half the season in 2018 and the back end of 2019. He was not even a starter in 2017. If you compare the stats they are right with each other with avg per game. If anything Barnett has shown a lot more then Graham and we did not give up on him. The fact he had the same avg per game stats in his 3rd year as Graham is very positive.

Barnett is still only 24 as well. I'm not going to pretend that I have super high expectations for the guy but the doom and gloom seems a bit much.

The Derek Barnett contract is simple. If he plays well, keep him on the 5th year option or extend him. If he's hurt or bad, you pull it. If he's just "OK", let him hit the market and see what happens. A lot of players are getting squeezed in the 2021 off-season; only the top players are getting paid real money.

Any of you guys in NC feel the earthquake?

Don't give up the fight. There are some people who agree with you.
