As we all know, Doug always tells the truth during his pressers.

What’s he supposed to say? Yeah, he wants more money?

1) Pay Peters to move to LT, look for a free agent RG

2) Sign Reiff to a 1 year deal

3) Pay Peters to move to LT, use an in house replacement for RG

4) Sign another FA to try out at LT.

5) Sign Reiff to a multi year deal

6) Let Pryor/Mailata/Driscoll battle it out for LT. Pray.

If the Eagles don’t plan on signing/trading for anyone else (aside from the small deals here and there throughout the season), how long do they have to reallocate 2021 cap to this year? Until end of season?

Yes, I have. After a couple of those the room was moving on me.

For you heathens who have never been to the Big Easy and the Carousel Bar, this was a joke. The room actually moves. ToastJenkins and twistr appear to be men of high refinement and sophistication, however.

Which is why I believe regardless of McLane's story, they prefer to do this behind closed doors.  And will.

Done deal, then.

Peters has them by the balls, they really have no choice. We've already seen Peters will put his ego before the team, now we'll see if the Eagles will put their pride before the team.

As selfish as Peters' actions are, going in with Pryor or Mailata at LT will get your QB killed. If they care about doing anything this season they'll reach a middle ground with JP and move him back to LT.

With Dillard and Johnson the presumed bookends for the foreseeable future it didn’t make sense to draft a tackle ahead of Reagor. By the time our second round pick was on the clock, most of the top receivers were gone. Mims was the notable exception.

Now Hurts in round 2... yeah, I got nothing...

Yup i think with the reports that eagles were trying to trade diiard during the draft had some merit and i think they would have traded up on the 1st for an OT they had graded higher than dillard. Problem was there werent that many teams that had high enough grades on dillard to justify not just using their pick to draft a higher graded LT.

Still boggles my mind that the eagles didnt do morw work on dillard pre draft that they didnt think hed be there so when he was they drafted him blindly without doing their home work.

Im not sure i make that pick, in hindsight it doesnt look as good as it did at the time as many considered dillard at that pick was a steal.

Well see its unfortunate he got hurt guess well see next year.

As for Hurts yeah definite head scratcher for sure.

Riley Rieff stays in Minn?

Can we get Riley Reid?

Lol , how come EVERYTHING in your minds is a super secret behind the scenes 'handshake' agreement?

Why would Doug Pederson first off "need to lie to you" ? He's already got one thing none of your prior Messiahs could ever get.  It's going to be real interesting to see how the Boobirds eventually try to undermine him in the end.

Terrell Owens was a pure work of art.  Pederson will be hilarious to watch but thankfully since he isn't listening to the local media , it's not going to happen for a decade or so.

6) See @RLC post from a couple of pages ago. There are a lot of things you can do to help a lineman, so do them and let him learn. The only way Mailata will learn is by doing. You add a TE on that side or motion him from RE for a wham block on the DE. RLC mentioned jet sweep action and you can also option him, as we did with Mack a few years ago.

In some ways, playing against your own guys day after day brings out the worst. Ostman, for example, knows every weakness Mailata has and if he is banged up. That's not an excuse but it is a fact.

We've all but established at this point that Howie doesn't make good decisions on draft day.

Foles was never a great practice player but I think most of what I have read is that he's played better than Trubisky.

I completely forgot about RPOs! Those are easier plays for lineman too.

What I find frustrating is that everyone says they want to have younger players, but aren't willing to let younger players learn on the field. It's not like anyone here has seen Mailata struggle in practice, but we all saw him play well last year in pre-season.

Howie is more interested in playing the draft board like its some kind of candy crush game than he is in finding players.

Each draft he can claim to have won the draft value game by saying we got great value as so and so player was predicted to go 1st round and we got him in the third.

Whats his name Howie what kind of player is he???.

Howie- no idea we never scouted him but we knew he dropped in the draft so we got great value😒

Great Draft value doesnt equal great players and thats Howies problem.

And Mailata should know his weaknesses as well. Kinda evens out and since Peters is here and we have a decent idea of what he can do why not do it and let your t.e. be a weapon. (although I highly doubt even if both the t.e. and the running back help that Mailata would be good enough at this point.)

The interesting thing to me with Peters trying to leverage a new deal was that it was always understood that there was a chance he could have seen action at LT even if Dillard didn't get hurt. There were a ton of questions regarding Dillard's ability to play, and if he had flamed out and played terrible, everyone knew that Peters would be the replacement. So I'm assuming that was structured into their deal when they assessed him at the value they signed him at?

I never have an issue with a player looking for more money, and Peters has all the leverage in the world here, but I just assumed there was always an understanding that there was a chance he could end up playing LT this year. Had Dillard have gone done in week three or been pulled by then and they tasked Peters to play LT, would he still be pulling this?
