When I was in college near Orlando I got to go to a lot of the parks, usually free.  A couple people at my church worked for their corporate office, plus working in restaurants serving the tourists they'd give us their passes if they were leaving and still had a day or 2 left.  We'd usually go off season so there were no lines.  One time my aunt and cousin wanted to visit to go to the parks...in June.  I said don't do it, lines are crazy long and it's so hot.  But she didn't want to take her out of school in the fall.  We waited in such long lines and got on 4 rides.  People were on top of each other herded like cattle.  I hated that.

Being married to a teacher, the downside really is the vacation times.  We generally have to take vacation when schools are off, so most things are peak time.  We went last July.  It was always crowded and hot, but we had a plan of what we wanted to do so and which days would be the best so it wasn’t horrible.  Outside of the Slinky Dog ride, most waits were tolerable.  I think we waited 2 hours for that ride.  It’s really the only ride that the kids wanted to do at that park, so we just had to bear it.  One person ahead of us fainted waiting in line.  Our kids had their kindles while waiting in line and we brought in water bottles.

We did go when the Pope came to Philly, which seemed to be a great time as it wasn’t very crowded down at Disney, with the exception of there seemingly being a lot of Philly people who had the same idea.  We did the Mickey’s Halloween thing at Magic Kingdom one night.  Basically they close the park at like 7 or 8, but keep it open to people who get those tickets.  Then the park is open until midnight.  It was well worth it as we were able to do so many more rides, most without more than a 5 minute wait. Rides like Splash Mountain has no wait.

This would be my dream.  I think I was introduced to Disney at the right age, and I didn't go too much as a kid.  It only made me appreciate it more as I grew up, and now, I would go every second of every day.  I haven't been in 4 years, but I knew how to manipulate the fast passes, show up at the right time, and rip through to the biggest lines in the beginning of the day.  It's almost a competition if you go at a bad time of the year.  My parents took me a few times in the beginning of February back in the 90s, and we never waited more than 15 minutes for anything.  Jungle Cruise in MK, Test Track in Epcot, and Tower of Terror were always loaded.  Animal Kingdom only had a few rides at the time, so we could crush that park in no time.

DISNEY PURGING STAR WARS, MARVEL WOKE AGENDA

With Star Wars failing at Disney and with the fears surrounding the coronavirus causing the company to lose billions, it is claimed that Disney will be changing its approach to various franchises including Star Wars and Marvel.

It's no secret that Disney has been promoting a "woke" agenda in its movies and more, and it's also no secret that the woke agenda has been a huge failure.

ABC should wake up and do the same at ESPN - just my opinion, mind you...

I used to listen to ESPN radio pretty often - it's terrible now.  It isn't even sports radio anymore.  Just a horrific lineup from start to finish.

I had a lot of morning commutes. Mike and Mike was very enjoyable and that piece of familiarity each morning you know what you were getting. Then Cowherd I would usually catch driving to/from the office for lunch breaks. Once both of those deteriorated, I don't think I've listened to either since.

Golic and Wingo was OK - Wingo tries too hard to be funny.  Now they're both gone - the morning show now has Keyshawn Johnson and 2 people I've never heard of.  Then it's Dan LeBetard, then Mike Greenberg is back on for a bit, then Max Kellerman I believe, and the drive home is Mike Golic Jr and and ex WNBA player.

I like the Fox lineup more, but the Fox morning show literally all they talk about is Lebron James.  Nick Wright is a Lebron slurper

Which WNBA player? I've seen/heard a LOT of them on various media or shows over the years and they pretty much all kill it. Not sure if they "screen" the women more then the men (meaning that they seem to let any moron on these shows so long as hes a man that played a professional sport), but the WNBA chicks all seem to be competent and intelligent and know how to speak.

i kind of miss my commute to work cause i rarely listen to sports talk of any kind now.  i was a big mike n mike fan. so much better than listening to dumbo & the crew on WIP.

Chiney Ogwumike - apparently she's still an active player but chose not to play this year?  But she signed a multi-year contract with ESPN, so who knows.  I've listened to them a bit - they aren't bad.

Cosmicbooknews is run by a sexist, racist, incel, clickbaity moron. Please refrain from posting any of that ridiculous site's links on this subreddit in the future.

CosmicBookNews is up there with WeGoThisCovered as one of the most notorious click bait sites. Even James Gunn has called them out for it.

It's a BS article on a BS website. The only source they have is a youtuber named "Doomcock" that they are promoting as fact. The website spent months saying Captain Marvel would flop. Then the website promoted conspiracy theories that Disney was buying tickets to inflate the box office for Captain Marvel.

The people running that site have been purged of their brains a long time ago. It's not reliable at all

absolute BS.

Ah yes Disney looked at the billion dollar grossing film Captain Marvel and realized what a mistake that they’ve made 🙄

Nothing from that site has any value at all. Ignore it.

Cosmicbooknews is interested in any lie or half-truth that will promote the culture war.

So no, not gonna discuss it.

Source is CosmicBookNews... Enough Said...That's explains how much reliable they're as a source (Sarcasm)

Because it is made-up BS

I hope that backfires miserably. I’m all for Disney putting it out there on VOD but to make people pay 30 bucks and sign up for a subscription is bogus and would start a bad trend.

It was good. I kept comparing it to the animated one from 98. I liked the animated one better

Spoiler

I'm not sure how I feel about them going the kind of supernatural route. Though I guess a talking dragon would be supernatural too.

I think they should have kept the training pole. Seemed like the only training they did were the arrows and the walk up the hill with the buckets. The avalanche scene was kind of disappointing. The reveal scene was meh. I did miss the singing scenes. They also removed a few scenes that were funny from the animated

I did like the matchmaker reaction to Mulan getting the sword in the end lol

I don't think it's worth the extra cost and it was messed up to do that. Maybe kids who never saw the animated will end up liking this one because they have nothing to compare?

I read an article a couple weeks ago where Disney said they were not doing this as a long term idea just maybe the occasional one-off special.  Plus it's a strategy during the pandemic to test it out to see if people won't go to theaters but spend the money for home viewing.

There have been other theatrical releases available to rent at the same time in the past but usually not the big blockbuster types.

I think once theaters are opened up fully after the pandemic there will be a huge appetite to get back to normal.  People will be happy to see movies on the big screen again.

Lol the gender reveal party

Just watched/listened to Hamilton for probably the 100th time.

As a guy who has seen a ton of NY broadway (name a show) when I was a bit younger but didn't get to see Hamilton live...man is it amazing. It holds up well technically to any show I have seen but the diversity in the music and how modern it is blows me away.
