and this is why bath salts are a bad idea folks.

Actually, you just need to understand whats going on.

Former head of disney is US ambassador to the CCP. Mulan the live action literally worked with the leadership in charge of the Chinese Muslim concentration camps and thanked them in the credits. They have been showing preference to Chinese audiences vs the US. And lastly, they took off the black guy in the promotional poster for one of the newer Star Wars aimed at the Chinese (CCP-approved).

But hey, chuckleheads gonna chuckle. So keep laughing.

Don't know. They're doing weekly episodes? Ugh. Hate them for that

I like one episode a week. You have time to digest what you saw and have something to look forward to.

My 7 year old daughter has been watching Mary Poppins.  A couple of thoughts, first, those are two ugly children, second, the CGI is awful.

It's one thing to not care (I honestly have trouble getting too worked up about it), but, I mean, it's well documented.  You all aren't anywhere near important enough to get paid to shill for Disney or the Chicoms, so you're doing it for free.  Why?  What do you get out of lying for them?  Well, one of you is just a liar who likes to lie about everything, but the other(s) usually don't.

Quote

Walt Disney Co. defended its cooperation with government entities accused of human-rights abuses in China’s Xinjiang region, saying the company had to work with the government in order to make films there.

"There are regulations that must be followed by all foreign film production companies wanting to operate in China,” Sean Bailey, president of Disney’s film studio, said in an Oct. 7 letter to two British politicians. "These companies are not allowed to operate independently and must partner with a Chinese production company which is responsible for securing all film permits.”

Disney released "Mulan,” a $200 million live-action remake of the company’s 1998 animated hit, last month. With the pandemic keeping many people in the U.S. and Europe out of movie theaters, the company made the film available for $30 to subscribers of its Disney+ streaming service.

Within hours of its release, eagle-eyed viewers saw that the company thanked several entities in Xinjiang, where the government has been accused of oppressing the country’s Muslim-minority Uighurs.

U.K. Legislators

The letter was addressed to Iain Duncan Smith, a member of the House of Commons, and Baroness Helena Kennedy, of the House of Lords, and it came in response to their query. Duncan Smith released it on Twitter.

Disney said the film is a celebration of female empowerment, based on a 1,500-year-old Chinese poem. The scenes in Xinjiang amount to just 78 seconds, and were done to capture the region’s dramatic desert scenery and the historic Silk Road. Most of the movie was shot in New Zealand.

The company said its Chinese partner Beijing Shadow Times Culture Co. began submitting film permits in 2017, before the U.S. or U.K. governments had issued risk advisories or policy rulings regarding the region.

"The decision to film in each of these locations was made by the film’s producers to film in the interest of authenticity, and was in no way influenced or dictated by state or local Chinese officials,” Bailey wrote.

Disney released the film theatrically in overseas markets where it doesn’t offer the Disney+ service, and it has taken in $66.8 million globally, two-thirds of that from China. Last year’s remake of "The Lion King” took in $116 million in China alone.

You see, Disney had to work with them, because, well, they just had to.  There's no way that they could have filmed anywhere else to avoid working with these Chinese authorities.  But yeah, more tin foil hat pics will help make you seem so much smarter.

You know the scenario we all like to believe about ourselves, that if we were alive in the 30s and 40s, we would speak out against the 3rd Reich and and care what they were doing to the Jews?

Yeah, that's not you.

Disney is the 4th Reich? Did I miss that cartoon? Which episode does Mickey do medical experiments on twin babies?

Your gaslighting is strong. No one is going to Pluto with the logic here.

The fact that a Trump supporter posted this just broke the cognitive dissonance meter for all time.

I've thought about doing that but i feel like i would get bored.  Maybe break it up and watch only now and then.

Way back when I watched it live it ran its course but they kept going.

Didn't watch on disney+ but didn't wanna dig for the Disney thread, but Cruella was pretty damn good IMO. Very enjoyable, although I'm assuming there will be a second one because I can't see this version turning into the version you see in the old movies, unless they're redoing the whole character

it's good because Emma Stone is phenomenal and can carry (and elevate) anything.

I saw it last night.  I thought it was good.  I’d watch it again.  We’re watching the Raya movie tonight.  It’s not as good, so far (about 30 min into it).
