Or a DT and turn him into a fullback in the 4th

Gotta love how the Eagles try so hard to fix an unbroken wheel just to try and prove how smart they are.

It's unreal how many of these tweener guys they keep drafting..... This went all the way back to Reid too, not just Howie.

It’s true, and they have been giving themselves self tittles like "Gold Standard and Quarterback Factory” since then too.

Which one of you is this?

Colts owner Jim Irsay on Wentz:

https://www.nfl.com/news/colts-owner-jim-irsay-calls-carson-wentz-era-a-mistake-for-us-it-was-something-w

Colts owner Jim Irsay calls Carson Wentz era a mistake: 'For us, it was something we had to move away from as a franchise'

Excerpts:

Quote

"I think the worst thing you can do is have a mistake and try to keep living with it going forward," Irsay said, via the Indy Star. "For us, it was something we had to move away from as a franchise. It was very obvious."

"No disrespect to Jacksonville, but I mean, they're the worst team in the league. You play well and hard for the first quarter or so, and they're looking to go to their locker room and clean it out. I've never seen anything like that in my life," Irsay said. "You say, 'My God, there's something wrong here.' It needs to be corrected. I think that we feel like we did."

It's clear that Irsay blamed Wentz for the team's inability to rise to the occasion.

"Your guy's gotta pick you up and carry you through Jacksonville," Irsay said. "He has to do it. Not an option. Has to. No excuses, no explanations."

Confirming other reports that he's not a good teammate or liked in the locker room:

Irsay's dismal view of Wentz had less to do with the quarterback's on-field struggles -- though those certainly came to light down the stretch of the season in which the QB threw for under 230 yards in each of the final five games. For Irsay, Wentz lacked the leadership in the locker room the owner desires.

"You search for the right chemistry with any team," Irsay said. "In football, it's as important as any sport that there is. If that chemistry is off, if it isn't there, it can be extremely detrimental and lower performance to a degree that is stunning and shocking."

Added Irsay: "For us, the fit just wasn't right. I don't know why. A lot of times you don't know why, but you know it isn't, and it was important for us to move in a different direction."

I was completely on board with drafting him but over time realized that was a huge mistake and was then completely on board with moving on from him.  Thank God Howie managed to get what he did for him.

Wentz is a broken player, there is no fixing him at this point.

I have no doubt that he will be 1 and done with Commies as well.

I give him like half the season

Agreed. I'd still want to know exactly TF he is doing which makes him seen as a cancerous teammate. Besides the amazing mind boggling turnovers of course. Maybe we will never know completely but wow I'll always wonder what could've been if the 2017 injury didn't exist, Foles SB run, city embracing that and the team. Prior to that he seemed like a decent teammate.

Wentz is OK in the first half of the season, it is the second half of the season that he has trouble with.

Honestly, we'll never know what he could've/would've been if he didn't blow out his knee in year two. He was a special player before the injury.

When Foles was winning in the 2017 playoff run,  Wentz said it he didn't feel comfortable with them winning without him, and Sproles almost fought him.

Brian Mitchell and LeGarrette Blount were on a radio show and confirmed it.

"And he damn sure wasn't happy about them going on a run when he wasn't playing. He was, 'I don't feel comfortable with them winning it without me. This doesn't feel good.' Until Darren Sproles almost whipped his ass. Cause he's a 'me' guy. ...He's a 'me' guy. He better become a 'we' guy or he's gonna have problems here."

Colts reporters talked about his locker room and leadership issues too:

Any of this sound familiar?

"Truth be told, some inside the Indianapolis Colts’ West 56th Street facility were finished with the Carson Wentz experiment long before the team’s late-season collapse, according to several recent conversations with sources inside the organization.

"[...]

"As for the Colts, the issues with Wentz stretched back to before the season began, one source said, and over the course of the year, some grew frustrated at what they deemed a lack of leadership, a resistance to hard coaching and a reckless style of play, which had a role in several close losses this year.

"What was missing, some within the team believe, was the type of direction the Colts got from the quarterback position in recent years, namely with Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers and even Jacoby Brissett, who despite struggling late in the 2019 season remained a deeply respected voice within the locker room.

"In other words, with a QB in place besides Wentz, some believe, the gutting late-season collapse the Colts suffered would have never happened."

Colts owner Irsay talked about not being a good fit or leader.   I posted this article yesterday if you scroll up for the quotes:
