FWIW, Sao Paolo is the safest city in Brazil when it comes to homicide rate. So, there's that. Though the country on the whole is quite dangerous. Sao Paolo has about the same homicide rate as Denver or Tucson.

Maybe Philly fans can help Sao Paolo up their game.

The funniest thing about this to me is at first glance, it just looks like the Eagles regular helmet. The Midnight Green helmet reflects light so many different ways that half the time it does look black. It's why the black helmet was dumb to begin with.

Eagles are the home team. If anything, they should have gone black helmet, black jersey, white pants.

White jerseys forced Green Bay to go with green or an alternate dark color.

OK, I guess this makes sense

A couple weeks ago it was posted that the Eagles are tweaking the kelly greens color this year and there were pics of the altered color on the jerseys. However, I went to NFL Shop and Eagles Shop and I don't see the new ones on there. Does anyone know where those pics even came from?

New year opening with big questions...as much as I try I can't get the taste of the last year's second half collapse....here's to bigger things!

That expresses my sentiments as well.  Having two experienced coordinators should help, but the players have to deliver on the field.

Eagles 13-4

SB Champs (unless the NFL darling KC Chiefs make it to the SB)

13 wins was your prediction last year as well.  Your prediction is recorded.

I will ignore those last five words!

@mattwill

14-3. Losses to Packers, Ravens and Dallas.

I have a feeling that Fangio will really turn the D around this year.  They were way too talented to rank near the bottom of the league last season.

Mike Tannenbaum on ESPN this morning predicted Love will throw for 450 yards and 4 TDs against the Eagles in Brazil.

God I really want them to sack Love like 5-6 times and get a couple turnovers.  I know the offense will be fine once they get rolling a few games into the season, but I really want the D to come out early and put the league on notice

I hope you are right, but I have a lot of concerns about the D. Remains to be seen but I feel like the talent level went down from last year. I think Fangio is a good baseline coach but I also think he's been getting figured out more often and is a tad overrated. I do think he was the best of the choices out there though, I just think he needs more talent to really thrive. The front 7 just has too many questions to me right now to feel confident in them. Secondary should be solid but they certainly have questions of their own with either age, health or experience.

Am I the only one who thinks the Packers hype has gotten way out of hand? Seeing plenty of people picking them to win the Super Bowl, calling them the second best team in the NFC, etc. They won 10 games last year, and there were basically 3 good wins: at Lions, home against KC and the playoff win in Dallas. They beat the Lions on Thanksgiving, then beat the Chiefs the next week with a rest advantage, and beat the ultimate chokers in the playoffs. Their other wins were 2 against the Bears, Saints, Rams (with Brett Rypien at QB), Chargers, Panthers and Vikings. They lost to the Falcons, Lions, Raiders (!!), Broncos (!!!!), Vikings, Steelers, Giants (!!!), Bucs and 49ers. Jordan Love is already being hyped as the best QB in the NFC off a good 8 game stretch. When this team was 3-6 midseason, people thought Love was a bust.

Seems way overdone.

I hear you.  But serious question, did you notice a slight decline in Kelce’s play last season?  I ask because I thought I did, but I’d defer to your opinion on the oline

I did not see a physical decline in Kelce's play but there was certainly a decline in the cohesion of the OL. I attribute it to an oversimplified offensive scheme, failure to make adjustments in route-running, i.e. too many deep routes and no hot receivers. Teams routinely rushed five and with those deep routes and no outlet receivers, the OL was being asked to hold up too long. If there was a specific position on the OL that diminished, it was RG. Seumalo was just much better than Jurgens AT THAT POSITION. Size and experience.

Crime wise it's been going in the wrong direction for a while.  Big reason why we left.

12-5

Losses at Bengals, at Rams, at Cowboys, at Commanders, at Ravens. Yes, all 5 losses on the road.

They are very good. Jordan Love in his first year starting had over 4,000 yards, 32 TD and 11 INTs. They don't have the superstars at WR that the Eagles have but Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed and Christian Watson are as good a young WR trio as there is in the NFL. They have two young TEs who I'd take here in a heartbeat in Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft. OL is not on the Eagles level but more than legit. They brought in Josh Jacobs to be the bell cow. They have a young, big, fast defense.

Hype is warranted. Team is legit.

Hey, thanks for taking my prediction.  I was being glib with my previous reply and didn't expect you to note it -- but I will stick with 12-5.  I was thinking about going 11-5-1 to stand out from the crowd, but Nick seems like the type of coach who would go for 2 in OT for the win rather than kick the XP for a tie.

Our trio is not exactly geriatric. Brown is three years older than Doubs. Smith is the same age as Reed, Dotson the same age as Watson.

But yeah, I get your point. They're legit.
