February 1, 20214 yr Just now, DBW said: Braun is trash Losing niskanen has hurt them. He might not have been great in the bubble but prior he was solid. They really need to upgrade the defense.
February 1, 20214 yr Two games in a row that the refs have called outrageously in the islanders favor. 4 to 1 yesterday, 6 to 3 today. That is unacceptable considering the crap they didn't call today, especially the cross check to the face on lindblom
February 1, 20214 yr HAYES! Jesus christ thank God for elliot cause these idiots complete Fed themselves
February 1, 20214 yr Honestly if the flyers took every islanders game to OT (regular season only) they would probably win 8/10 times. 3v3 OT isn't conducive to the islanders skill-less boring style of hockey where they forecheck aggressively and turtle in the zone.
February 1, 20214 yr I don’t know how this team is winning hockey games and have the record they do, eventually it all has to come falling down no? They’re playing bad hockey yet are winning. I’ll take it but it can’t last forever.

You can also look at it like they're still winning games even though they're playing like crap, so what happens when they actually start playing well?

Question is i thought the Montreal series and islanders series they played similar to how they started the year in a lot fo these games. That’s the issue. This started back then and they really haven’t gotten back to where they where prior to the bubble. I just think they have enough talent to beat a lot of these teams so they overcome it. I’m hoping you are right

I’m hoping you are right We definitely do have the talent to beat these teams, which is why it was so frustrating to lose to this team in the bubble. It's annoying this team struggles against what is essentially a low skill team full of grinders with one or two actual skill players, same kind of team as Montreal. Entire game plan revolves around hoping their goaltender holds up and the opposing team makes mistakes in their own end. Luckily for those teams the flyers do nothing but make mistakes in their own end, often times unforced. If the flyers ever stop screwing themselves in their own zone they would wipe the floor with those talentless teams. The only reason the islanders compete is because they have a top flight coach, for the Canadiens it's because of Carey price. Both teams get away with a lot of borderline crap because "that's their style", the canadiens bubble series had so many missed interference penalties on pick plays in the offensive zone it was infuriating. The series wouldn't have been close if even a third of them were called correctly. Tl;dr if the flyers ever get their heads out of their asses we won't have to worry about these types of teams.

Only thing i disagree on if they called all those penalties the flyers pp still wasn’t connecting in that series or the following. They were atrocious on the PP in both to those series. Maybe they score more on them but i don’t think that’s a given with how bad their PP was outside of like a game out of the 13. In game 5 vs. the habs they were 3/7. The rest of the 12 games they were 1/33. They were downright awful on the power play most of the playoffs. I don’t believe they even scored a Pp goal in the islanders series.

February 2, 20214 yr IMO one of their biggest issues is moving the puck quickly out of the zone followed by looking for the pass too much. This team is the epitome of letting perfect get in the way of better.

February 3, 20214 yr Niskanen coming back might make us a Cup contender. He will make our defense so much better.
February 4, 20214 yr I want to like the jerseys. I want to. The black almost looks brown on tv. Like Browns jerseys, but for hockey.
