The concerns about Michcov are becoming real. Forget his lack of scoring, just watch him out there. He can't pass now, he can't skate, doesn't get back on d because he is out of condition. Next year is make or break for him. He better spend the entire off season conditioning and practicing his skating. Flyer's fan will make excuses for him until he dies. There needs to be accountability and dont say just Toch is the reason, other guys don't look as bad in this system.

Fun first period. Of course, it helped that we scored a couple times. Denver Barkey with a goal and an assist.

If there is a guy within 5-7 spots within our range for the draft this year in the first round, I am packing Michkov to go get him. Sophomore slump is one thing but this guy isn't showing ANYTHING. His shot is average, his stick handling is average, his passing was average but seems to have taken a step back, he never back checks, he is slow as a turtle, and he is tiny. Don't say Toch is the main issue.

The flyers have become such a pathetic organization, it’s the same every year, competitive until January and then the losing streak begins taking them out of any chance of the playoffs. I refuse to watch, it’s too frustrating, they need to blow it all up.

They’d probably need to go 7-2-1 to get to 99 points. The two wildcard teams have 90 and 87 points and play each other today; Flyers might be hoping for a BOS win to keep CLB at 87 points. Then they also need to jump ahead of DET and OTT.

They’ve made some strides this season but still a ways to go to be relevant again.

Long shot, not sure about that. Check the standings and games played. They are right in the middle of it and they play Detroit two more times. I believe destiny is in their own hands now. Forester is coming back, Martone plays tomorrow. The lines are heating up and goaltending is top notch at the moment.

What might get in their way is they're not going to have a tiebreaker over any of these teams. NHL playoff tiebreaking procedures dictate regulation wins (RW) as first tiebreaker and wins without the shootout (ROW) as the second tiebreaker. The Flyers are far behind in both of these scenarios, so they'll need to have one more point in the standings to get a playoff spot.

Currently, they're chasing PIT for 3rd in the division and CLB for the second wildcard spot. My guess is PIT can get 10 points in their last 9 games and CLB can get 10 points in their last 8. That would put both of them at 98 points. For the wildcard, the Flyers will also have to out-point both DET and OTT (one of whom could get 12 points in 9 games), so it could be argued qualifying 3rd in the division might be easier -- although basically the same task at this point.

I think we'll likely see 97 or even 98 points missing the playoffs in the East.
