Pulling out now would be fine with me. Anything but a ground invasion.

They are in the process of sending more troops. The "negotiations” with Iran are a cop out IMO. This 10 day pause will give more time to move troops in. If Iran doesn’t completely lay down beforehand, boots will be on the ground IMO.

How do you get the Strait back open and kept open and without ships having to pay millions to Iran to pass? There is no reasonable strategic solution in sight at this stage.

@Diehardfan Remember when you laughed at me for saying Iran would close the Strait? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Yes, this is very predictably what is happening. He's buying time, getting some money rolling in the markets while he positions for the ground invasion. It's like a 5D chess, if instead of capturing the king the goal was incompetence and corruption.

But, is there another way?

The other way would've been the severely retarded portion of the population, such as yourself, to have stayed home on election day instead of collectively voting for the king of retards to be the leader of the free world.

My view as well. I mean what is Iran supposed to think after they were attacked during negotiations and now the build up of ground forces, with new negotiations on the horizon?

"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me”… they will be ready this time with everything they have left.

An off ramp is not an easy task with the way this "excursion” has been handled. Trump is out of his league here and let’s hope his stupidity will not be the cause of a high casualty rate for our troops.

Pay millions of dollars to the insurance companies

He said: "Never in history has a country been defeated as Iran has. We wiped it off the face of the earth."

THAT SAME DAY:

Iran launched its 80th wave of missile strikes against Israel and US bases.

Iran's IRGC announced ALL American military bases in the Middle East have been "ELIMINATED" and they are hunting the remaining US troops.

Iran released video claiming they shot down a US F-18 fighter jet near Chabahar.

CENTCOM denied both claims. But released no footage.

Iran announced the Strait of Hormuz will never be the same.

20+ ships have ALREADY paid the "Tehran Toll Booth" for safe passage.

Iran's parliament is drafting a LAW to make the Hormuz toll system permanent.

Iran then threatened to block the Bab el-Mandeb Strait — the entrance to the Red Sea.

That's 12% of all global seaborne oil.

On top of the 20% that already flows through the Hormuz they now control.

Here's what nobody is telling you:

The US spent months bombing Iran.

Iran responded by becoming the landlord of the world's most important shipping lanes.

That's not a defeat. That's a business model.

Bookmark this. Come back in 5 days.

Maybe if we round up trump, his family, all his cabinet, any complicit congress members and just to make it bi partisan, add Chuck Schumer. Then we give them over to Iran as a big beautiful gift, a peace offering so to speak. See what happens…

Oh yeah, why didn’t someone think of that?

Does it remember it started over a post about their navy?

First off my reply was to someone saying Iran was going to close it. I did laugh and they haven't. Insurance companies essentially have.

You don't. But I'm not sending troops to their deaths to reduce the price of oil.

Maybe we could work something out long term where we pay an elevated price for our ships to pass through it, which isn't ideal either but it's still better than a prolonged war and dead soldiers.

Doesnt it go deeper than that though? I thought I read a post in here about the death of economy when oil starts trading for Chinese yuan instead of American dollars.

Are you implying their nuclear program, the support of terrorism and the danger to Israel?

I’d say that all of that is extremely important to Israel, but oil and money is more important to Trump and his corruption syndicate.

Viewing it from the Iranian perspective: why would they agree to that deal and just forget everything else that has happened? If the regime stays in power after all of this, you can be certain that revenge is coming in the future. It’s not like the US is loved in that region, even by the so called Arab allies. They’re using their money to extort everything possible (military equipment, secrets etc.) to develop their weapons.

And Israel is not going to keep quiet either. They’re no angels in this whole mess either & it should be possible to criticize Israel without being anti semitic.

Im talking about implications for us. Not Trump's personal motives.

I dont think we need troops to go "fight for lower oil prices." I think we need troops to go fight mainly for all of the downstream implications from that that affect our country, and the worlds economy. And, our future from an Iran that has experienced victory over the USA.

Iran has the blueprint now to exert power over us any time we try to keep them in check. From now on, no half measures will be possible. We want to sanction them, or selectively bomb certain sites to slow them down- they have the answer.
