They make mistakes but they have been surrounded since the end of WW2 by groups wishing to finish the job of the Germans. They are aggressive and nasty and are sometimes over the top and that is the only way you overcome the groups they are up against. If Philly was under constant attack and CHOP was hit regularly along with middle schools all over the city I'm pretty sure you'd have a different perspective. Israel doesn't have our defense industry. They will make mistakes but they aren't wasting their munitions for the crap of it.

Cuba is an obvious option but he may recognize that the country might not be ready for another conflict so soon. Leaving NATO is probably worth a few weeks though he can’t actually leave as he won’t get Congress to agree. A bit of juice left with the SAVE Act and he can always go with aliens at some point. He’ll cobble something together should he decide to abandon Israel. Until such time it will be all Iran.
