I have a local place I got get all my steaks from. We’re going to be getting ground beef as well. Waaaaay cheaper than the box stores. I can get four 6-8 oz filets to feed the family for under $50 usually. We never eat steaks out at restaurants. That’s the cost of literally 1 filet and no sides at a half decent place. I enjoy my cooking better anyway. The question which remains to be seen is will my local guy raise their cost because of the tainted horse patties being shipped in. We’ll see, but even In that case, I’d pay a little more for home grown and SAFE meat.

If you have a deep freezer a lot of farmers will sell and butcher stuff either own their own or through a local butcher. A half would last a long time. Higher up front cost, but cheaper in the long run.

Honestly anymore I'm just going to start buying produce from the local farmer's markets given how bad things are getting. It's a wonder Upton Sinclair isn't spinning so much that his casket is doing cartwheels down the street.
