Not much. Why would we think that? It’s not rpo thats driving it. And how much does hurts run off of when we do it?

To your first question: observation.

Not RPO - read option. The back side DE or LB has to stay home.

To your last question: enough.

We run enough RO action to influence the defense. Ballpark estimate: Hurts gains 600+ yards. If he was a statue, he’d get maybe 100 yards and Saquon would get 300 more than he did, mostly by having more carries. That’s a net loss of roughly 200 yards for the pair and more hits on Saquon. It’s not JUST the blocking that springs Saquon; it’s also play design and execution.

How I'm feeling now, I think we win the Super Bowl unless we have to play the Chiefs.

Allen or Lamar won't get the calls Mahomes would.

Only NFC team I'm scared of his the Bucs, Vea and Bowles are healthy, so they're still a crap matchup for Hurts.

We’ll always be a running team under Sirianni, and I don’t Think that’s a bad thing. I think that’s an excellent thing

Yeah... I'm going to disagree with that.   In his first year, they were a pass first offense... until Sirianni gave up play calling.   Last year, when Sirianni was more involved in the offense than 2022 and the second half of 2021, while Steichen ran things, they were also more pass focused.   And to start this season, they were more pass driven, until the OL came to Sirianni and asked (maybe demanded) that the team run the ball more.

In other words, I don't think that Sirianni is a guy that wants to run the ball, it seems like he's much more about the passing game, but maybe I'm misreading what I've seen over the past 4 seasons.  But, for my memory, when Sirianni is more involved in the offense, they seem like they want it to be a passing offense.

Frankly, I'd rather line up with the QB under center more often with a FB out of the I formation...  Just my own thoughts...

He's better than Goedert, but not nearly by enough to account for the gap in talent that AJ and Smitty hold over Amon Ra and Jameson

I dunno, I think it's damn close.

Smith, Brown, Goedert- 17 TDs and roughly 2400 yards combined in 36 games.

LaPorta, Williams, St. Brown- 26 TDs and roughly 3100 yards combined in 48 games.

St. Brown vs. AJ Brown with AJ adjusted to 17 games.      St. Brown- 1263 yards 12 TDs        AJ Brown- 1411 yards 9 TDs

Williams vs. Smith with both adjusted to 17 games.            Williams- 1134 yards 8 TDs            Smith- 1089 yards 10 TDs

LaPorta vs. Goedert adjusted to 17 games.                         LaPorta- 771 yards 7 TDs              Goedert- 843 yards 3 TDs (Saints game REALLY inflates his numbers)

                                                                                              3168 yards 27 TDs                         3343 yards 22 TDs

You can't get much closer to that. Detroit's big 3 has the Eagles on TDs and the Eagles big 3 has them on yards. What's more important? 5 more TDs, or 175 yards?

If we had a qb who could throw, ours would be considerably better.

That's because of Goff and Johnson. AJ Brown in a Ben Johnson offense would be a cheat code.

Well they have a qb. We have a QRB. There’s a big difference

I wasn't thrilled with Shipley at all and I hope having him on the roster doesn't impact them taking a RB this year. Gainwell can walk. Loaded RB class. Take a good one.

A Day 3 pick should be the Army QB Bryson Daily as an RB.

Why would you want to retain a guy you just fired?

Didn't we do that with Desai?

Kinda different making a switch in season vs end of season and bringing him back next season. It’s not like they wanted to bring Desai back after the season was over.

It was equally dumb though and they should have just fired him.

I see the Hurts Haters are going into overdrive now faced with the reality that he is returning this Sunday to go on a deep playoff run which will just further solidify his inevitable placement as the best QB in franchise history.

This is the second or third time I’ve seen you mention him. The only time I’ve seen him play was the army navy game, but I have to say, I wasn’t that impressed.

the way I see it, Barkley and Shipley are locks, while Gainwell is a legitimate question mark. What is he worth on the open market? What’s he worth to the eagles? The coaching staff seems to value him way more than fans do. I think he’s decent — reliable but not spectacular.

Regardless of what happens with Gainwell, I want us to bring someone in with RB1 potential. Chances are Barkley doesn’t stay healthy all of next season. Chances also lean towards him falling off a cliff production wise in the next few years.

This is an incredibly deep RB class, and it’s heavy on the work horse type and light on the 3rd down pass catching type. Get one of those guys in now so we are ready for the inevitable issues we deal with when Barkley is hurt or not on the team.

I don’t see him as a RB1.  I see him more as a Julian Edelman type, but not specifically as a receiver.  More than anything he is a winner.  But the fact that he ran for 32 touchdowns and 1,659 yards this season was due to talent.  He would be a complement to RB1if my suspicions are correct.

The NFL is a clown show sometimes.  Disgrace to make NFL players play on that field.  I forgot just how awful the field was and how somebody literally slipped on every play.  I don't think we can take anything from that game on a joke field like that.
