EMB Blog: 2024 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

The percentage tracker has updated to 58% chance Eagles play Washington 42% chance Eagles play Packers. Down slightly from in the 60's earlier today.

But these percentages are just made up and never mean anything.

Both teams are in a weird situation. Playing at the same time and both need a win to try avoid playing the Eagles but might opt to not risk injuries on minor seeding.

Zach Ertz, thanks for the Super Bowl but he’s dead to me

Pretty much where I'm at. I can't stand Washington. They are almost at Dallas level to me.

Biggest threats are the Lions/Vikings/Bucs. Two of them will have to play each other week 1. That's a big win for the Eagles. Chances are two of them will play the week after if LA does it's job. Eagles need to handle business, but things are looking good.

Wild that the 7th seed in the NFC is going to be a 12 win team. Meanwhile the 7th seed in the AFC will be a 9 or 10 win team.

Rams may lose and get leapfrogged by Tampa for the #3 seed.  Then we likely face Tampa in the divisional.

Maybe. Fingers crossed they win at home.

Just saying if the nfl went away with division winners just automatically getting the higher seeds and tiebreakers between division champs and WC teams going to division champs then it would be much more intrigue in week 18. Eagles would need to win to secure the 2. Commanders would need to win to secure the 4 seed and a home playoff game against the packers. The rams would need to win to stay out of the 7 seed over Tampa (if Tampa wins).

that said we are about to have potentially 5 WCs with better records than a couple division champs.

Tampa needs Atlanta to lose on Sunday though. Atlanta holds the tiebreaker.

Wonder if Detroit rests their starters tomorrow Monday night.

Rams will rest their starters. Yet somehow per reports have not listed Seattle as being eliminated, but not sure who they could get in over since Rams, Wash, GB clinched.

No they don't. Atlanta at best can only be 9-8. If Tampa wins they are 10-7

Why would the Lions rest them and risk losing?

It's irrelevant for the 1 seed. If they lose tomorrow and beat Minny they're still the 1 seed.

Tampa has 8 wins per Mike Tirico. He corrected the standings. Atlanta in control of their own destiny per Mike Tirico.

Mike Tirico hasn't reported Seattle is eliminated so it's not official yet.

Lmao

ATL is out.  No way Tampa loses to NO next week.  Most likely Tampa gets #3 seed since Rams will rest starters with a spot locked up already.

Whatever happens with seeding, bring on the playoffs. This team is ready to correct last year's mistakes. I don't care which teams they play, they can beat anyone if they play like we know they can.

Don't challenge The 'Rico, The 'Rico knows all. Whatever he says is truth.

It's absurd that the Dolphins can still make the playoffs and possibly Colts too, not sure about the latter on that one. But of those teams Fing blow. The Bengals could get so screwed. I think the Broncos kinda suck too tbh. I don't want them in the playoffs they're boring. Broncos will probably beat the Chiefs backups and get in and then just get absolutely trounced by the Bills. That will be one of those 37-7 games. Broncos may even go up 7-0 early and you think ok this could be interesting, then Allen goes F this and that's the end of that. And Bo Nix looks like rookie QBs usually do in playoffs in cold weather.

Not sure how Atlanta losing tonight affected the Seahawks Rams game next week in terms of what tiebreakers. But I hate late season games being meaningless it ruins a lot of the fun.

$103 million … but only 29 players under contract.

My hate meter has the Giants at the top by a considerable margin, followed by the Cowboys.  Washington is a distant third in the NFCE, and behind San Fran in the overall NFC.  San Fran is third most hated behind the Giants and Cowboys.

The only AFC team on my hate list is NE, who fit in between the Cowboys and the Niners.

Colts also were eliminated today. They are 7-9 at worse the last WC team in the afc will be 9-8

FWIW, after starting to play Wordle last August, I finally got it in one tonight!

I punted on Wordle a long long time ago.

Green Bay is the opponent.

period end of story

GB is the better team, but Daniels is the better QB.

Daniels is also on a roll, best to avoid him.
