I understand that, but that approach by him and his agent assumes that the Bengals will cave in and make him an offer he can accept (like Watt just accomplished with the Steelers); however, the Bengals may choose not to cave, and that blows up the assumption. Then the choice is sitting out the season, and walking away from $15 million, and going into 2026 Free Agency with no 2025 statistics to leverage. If you were him would you go that route, or would you be willing to consider alternatives?

I think he's done with the organization; he took one year guaranteed money on his last contract with the Bengals. He should be instructing his agent that the play is a sign-and-trade. There are other teams out there who would extend him at 3-4 years at market value, and the Bengals in turn would get better trade compensation than they'll get when he walks.

They opened their wallets for both Chase and Higgins and are now trying to lowball him. His best negotiating position is to stay out, watch the team get off to another slow start, and let the pressure build on the organization.

Some interesting thoughts on roster construction as we start camp:

  • Will we carry 4 RB/FBs? Or do we try and sneak Dillon to the PS? My personal belief is that they will keep both Dillon and VanSumeren on the 53. Dillon may be inactive, but he's here as insurance in case Barkley has to miss a few games.

  • Does A. Williams make the team as a return specialist, meaning we carry 6 WRs? I think so, and I think A. Smith/Wilson/Marshall are fighting for 2 spots. I think they give up on A. Smith.

  • Do we carry 2 or 3 TEs? I think 2, and we bet 1-2 of the guys we cut can be snuck to the PS.

  • The OL will be fascinating. I think we could keep 11 -- the 5 starters, 3 rookies, and Green, Pryor and Lamm. Lamm feels like the swing tackle, and Pryor could win the RG job if Steen struggles. Green...I don't think he makes it to the PS with his 1st round pedigree.

  • I really wish we could keep P. Johnson for special teams, but I think they try and get him to the PS. The Giants claimed him last year, but hopefully we can sneak him through this year.

  • With Dean likely on PUP, I think we roll with 4 LBs, which is light. If Campbell isn't ready, we may have to carry 5.

  • I think they still like Ricks enough to keep him on the 53

Here's my best guess as of today:

You can add Gray fighting for those last 2 WR spots

I think Dillon is likely a PS type player. I can see them keeping Shun Derrick Powell over him because he may be able to return kicks and is just a different type of player. He could also end up looking like Donnell Pumphrey. If he looks elusive and plays well in the pre-season, I can see where he would appeal to Sirianni on offense. I think there are 4 locks at WR, AJ, Devonta, Dotson and Wilson. That leaves A.Smith, Marshall and Williams fighting for 1 or 2 spots. My guess is Williams stays because of his return ability. I could see them going with just 5 WRs.

Why do you hate Jalen Hurts?

I never left Wentzylvania.

Curious how everyone would rank the organizations in Philly sports, not the teams. I'd say:

  1. Eagles. Elite sports organization. Definitely a bit (or a lot) of smugness, which actually arrived before their greatness, but when you've got it, flaunt it.

  2. Phillies. They spend money. They want to win. The current group has fatigue amongst fans for being good for a while and not getting it done, but again, we aren't ranking teams here. But the franchise generally does things right and has well regarded baseball people. The scouting situation, specifically international, is bad. No one trusts Dombrowski with personnel decisions on journeymen (whiff after whiff after whiff), but I feel that there is longitudinal organizational trust.

  3. Flyers. They are trying. They are likable. But they are also adrift.

  4. 76ers. Not quite laughingstock level, but they aren't their own owner's favorite team. Their internal and external communication is consistently off the mark, leading to friction and criticism. There is almost zero confidence in the vision of the guys in charge. They are probably the only team in the city where people around their respective league would commonly (and justifiably) say "that's just not a good organization."

I give up a 3rd Round pick in 2026 which would in time be offset by a 3rd Round Comp Pick in 2027 after his UFA signing with another team.

I’d add a condition to the 3rd Round pick that it becomes a 2nd Round pick if he ends up signing with the Eagles.

Seems pricey, and the offset could be offset by a UDFA signing of the Eagles' own that same offseason.

Some bizarre cut offs here. Lurie bought the team midway through 1994... so let's just stick to 'since 1995'.

Never understood bringing Nichols back. Now, I just saw on Twitter that KJ Henry was outstanding, so that’s a shock rolleyes

So, Jerry and Micah have a handshake to be the highest paid non-QB in March. Micah asks Jerry and Stephen to call his agent and...they never do.

LOL - make the team first Miles. And remember you were Saquon's backup at PSU.

RIP Ozzy 🙁

Sad to see him so bitter

He only had 1 year of 1k rushing in his career. Barkley had almost 4 with Giants and then exploded with us for 2k

His math not mathing

Miles Sanders always had some Napoleon Complex to him

Does he think people didn't notice he lost his job in Carolina? He was 3.5 yards per carry while Chuba Hubbard was getting 4.8

Why wasn't it personal when he was in Carolina averaging like 3 YPC?
