In the most recent permutation, had AJ spoken in response to a question from the press, it would be annoying, but less divisive.

But, in this permutation (again), he decided to go with the critic comment on social media in order to precipitate a question from the media. He ducked media availability, then he chose to ignite the controversy by posting to social media, forcing the press to press him on the issue. This wasn't started by the press asking. It started by him posting to social media.

And I don't post to social media about my job, so the press doesn't come ask me about it.

You also aren’t in the entertainment industry.

The show must go on.

If you see that... Stout HAS to see it too, right? Wouldn't slowing the snap after the tap also help Steen in getting his head where it needs to be in order to see the blitzers coming?

A fair question. The problem is getting all 11 guys acting at the same time. Tap - GO is easier to synchronize than Tap - Hold - GO. you're begging to have illegal motion when you add another variable. I think Stout believes more reps will resolve the issue for Steen as his recognition is sharpened.

Despite this issue, I have to say that I think Steen has been our best OL thus far and better than I had expected.

Eagles play their most complete game of the young season.

PHI - 30

Mr Ed - 13

Eagles get a pick 6 and a blocked punt, fg, or PAT.

Since I’m going, I’ll just go with the trend and average the last two eagles-broncos games I’ve been to @mattwill

Eagles: 20.5

Broncos: 50.5

Prediction: Dotson TD.

I mean at least this time the CB's aren't Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher.

Calcaterra not a practice. Must have been traded for Trey Hendrickson

I think this will be a defensive game and the difference will be Nix making some mistakes and turning the ball over.

Mann took a hit with all the punt return yardage.

A calculator for the #6 ranked DE sounds like a deal. I don't understand why he isn't ranked higher after leading the league in sacks last year.

@paco

Don't you dare 🤣

I think Cooper goes off in this game. INT, FF. Pat McAfee and his crew just dubbed him the best white CB ever.

Take a seat at your throne Sir DeJean.

This is your world. We're just living in it.

Well, there are two ways to look at things...

1 - These players can view themselves as entertainers, like Jerry Jones likes to talk about with the Soap Opera that is the Dallas Cowboys...

or

2 - These players can view themselves as football players who are part of a team that's trying to win back to back titles.

AJ has already said that the championship chase isn't what motivates him (paraphrase), he gets the most enjoyment/fulfillment when he's dominating his opponent, not when his team wins. So, I don't see how this marriage lasts for much longer. AJ, frankly, doesn't really fit the culture of the team which has become that winning supersedes everything else.

I wonder if they could do the hand wave in Jurgens peripheral vision instead... then Steen would be able to be completely square to the LOS and have his head looking straight ahead. But, right now, Steen seems to be a bit slow in tapping and they've nearly had some delay calls while Hurts is yelling "GO GO GO".

I just said I’m done debating this.

My position is clear. If you have a problem at any job, speak to the individual in-person and work towards a solution. Airing it on social media is being a ****.

Agree except the last sentence. Only thing worse than going on social media is involving HR. But I still believe the first quote was aimed at the beats, who keep pestering Brown to be a diva so they have drama to report on. AJ is the anti-diva but still has his own pride and confidence to protect.

Does the press often come to your job and ask questions about your performance?

Yes, they did (thanks to your side of the bar).

Truth is that we live in a soundbite world these days. Back when I first became a fan, there were two newspaper reporters (two papers in town) and three TV reporters covering the team (the sports department for each was basically three guys). No ESPN, sports talk radio was one guy for a few hours a week. None of the 24 hour a day BS. Heck, nationally there was the Sporting News (employing one of the local paper reporters as their source) and Sports Illustrated. (Well, Playboy had a college ball and a NFL article each year). I can’t imagine coping with all that level of attention. So I don’t blame AJ for his tweet. And frankly, still see nothing wrong with what he said.

Eagles are 4-0 and to read the Beats, one would believe that the are 0-4 and getting the snot beat out of them every week.

@mattwill

I can't predict a loss again... Eagles find a way in another not so pretty win. Defense continues to be the catalyst.

Eagles 27

Broncos 17

Bonus: Defense delivers two turnovers, one of them for a score.

I didn’t hear what he said that way at all. What I heard him say was that savoring the historical satisfaction of the Super Bowl win only lasted two days before it was overtaken by getting on with the task at hand … winning SBLX … the next one.

I’ve seen a few numbers on it but what is the cap hit they would take if AJ is traded mid season? I’ve seen $30 million and I’ve seen $42 million. This team isn’t run by morons, they’re not taking that big of a hit.

You appear to be allergic to fun?

EDIT: actually that isn’t fair of me to say, so you have my apologies. Truth be told, while I do enjoy gathering and sharing the predictions, I do exercise a little bit of executive privilege to make it a bit more fun for me. Sorry if that exercise has caught you in the crosshairs. An example of the executive privilege is that this week I have started recording the Bonus predictions that have come in without any score attached. So far there have been three this week. It is all in the interests of fun.

I accept your proposal.

As executor of all decision making, I request 1 point for 41+ TD and 2 points for an exact TD of 41 yards

In another thread in response to a comment that what the Eagles have produced is a "Historically bad 4-0 start” I replied, "No, it is a historically great start. Perfect record … couldn’t be any better. Historically strong Strength of Schedule against opponents who are 9-2-1 in their games other than against the Eagles. That is a .792 win-loss percentage. No other 4-0 team in NFL history has faced a first four set of opponents with a better composite record.”

I believe that is correct even if @FranklinFldEBUpper comes up with another team whose opponents were even better than 9-2-1.

Thoughts?

Yes, Jerry even got that wrong. Nothing like a Soap Opera, more like a stripper in the entertainment industry. Digging for every dollar they can, showing their a$$ every chance they can, and performing personal tasks for the big money on the side...

The center has enough on his plate. I definitely agree that we’re taking too long. Mailata said as much. It’s tough on linemen to hold a stance for an indeterminate period of time. We can see the clock; they can’t.

APR must have been really bad at practice yesterday

Notice how APR gets signed about the day rent would be due. Howie has figured out how to extend the PS size.

@mattwill

Eagles 29, Broncos 17

Bonus -- Eagles get more sacks than Broncos

Did Goedert practice today?
