EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

Since we want the Bears to lose twice, it would probably help if they clinch the division prior to their game tomorrow. And a Packers loss tonight would do that.

There is also the obscure advantage a Packers loss could give us. That would be a potential tiebreak draft order scenario with the Steelers, if both teams lose in the same week of the playoffs. Strength of schedule comes into play there, so we’d like to have more losses on our schedule. I realize it’s a stretch to even consider this but when you’re looking for reasons, that’s at least something.

Thanks, makes sense. I couldn’t make the connection in my head.

Looks like the Packers are done for the night.

Had to have given Willis a shot of something in the arm

So the announcer says the center did the right thing by reaching out and touching the defender who was in the neutral zone, but when Tyler Steen does it, it’s a penalty?

Imagine being a Ravens fan enjoying this win, then realizing you need Shedeur to win a game for you tomorrow to save your season.

It’s different when it’s a traditional qb sneak and not a tush push. The refs job is 10x easier to officiate when it’s not a tush push. /s

Saturday night Eagles-Bills Game Score Predictions -- 52 hours until Kickoff

Skeleton update from the seaside. I might have one more update before Kickoff, but that depends on whether the Internet is up or down. But keep the predictions coming. I will "like" them as I see them.

Since the last update I have recorded the following predictions.

Dr.Philly with a 24-20 win

RemembertheKoy with a 19-23 loss

FrankfurtEagle89 with a 20-17 win

DeathByEagle with a 13-27 loss

Diehardfan with a 20-28 loss

rrfierce with a 13-27 loss

Cunningham the man with a 22-32 loss

Add those 7 to the 29 predictions shown below and you get 20 for an Eagles win and 16 for a Bills win.

As we do each week, we are gathering Game Score predictions. As always, please tag your prediction post with @mattwill that way I will be sure to see/record it.  Score predictions can also have an optional "Bonus Pick"tiebreaker prediction.  I will be taking predictions right up until Kickoff. If someone posts a prediction without a tag, please reply to it including the @mattwill tag.

The previous 29 recorded predictions plus @RLC are:

trying to catch up - do we have anything to play for? 2 seed still in play?

Basically it is in play unless we lose or bears win.

2, 3 or a very small chance of 4 seed are the options. Eagles win tomorrow and Bears lose to 49ers it gets interesting.

I think the Niners are gonna end up the 1 seed. They are playing better ball than the Bears or Seahawks right now and have two games at home and also will be motivated to have home field all the way through to the SB since it's played in their stadium. I don't think they are going to the SB but I think they'll get the 1 seed. So I think they are beating the Bears it's just a matter of if the Eagles will beat the Bills and I'm not so confident in that. I still didn't like the way the Eagles looked vs Wash last week. If they get that kinda coaching in the playoffs they are one and done.

The question is if the Rams and Seahawks wind up tied who wins the tiebreaker if that Seahawks loss is to the Niners. I'm going down the tiebreakers and I think it goes all the way to strength of victory... and that could end up tied too. Amazingly it could go all the way down to strength of schedule which is the 6th tiebreaker and Rams would win and get the 5th seed. But I'm dead tired and went through it quickly so I may have gotten some things wrong.

Rams win the tiebreaker (assuming they both finish 13-4 meaning the rams win out) if Seattle loses to SF as in the division they’d be 4-2 and Seattle would be 3-3.

There is next to no chance Steichen is fired. What he did with what he had should get an extension.

I wouldn't give him an extension based off anything he's done in Indy.

I get that they lost their QB but the Colts have had a pretty bad collapse. I dont know what they're doing at QB next year but they traded some 1sts already for Gardner and that's backfired so far. I'd wait to see what happens next year before making any decision on an extension for Steichen.

I feel like the FO has tied a hand behind Steichen’s back. Was it Irsay that wanted to get Richardson? Was it Ballard that wanted Gardner?

If Steichen was behind these major moves he deserves blame. It just feels like he’s the guy that does his best to make chicken salad out of chickenshit.

The Packers are so mangled at this point that you want the 2nd seed to play them in round 1.

I like the Eagles over any 6th seed but the 7th seed Packers are broken right now.

The Niners are a product of their cupcake schedule. They got early season wins over SEA and the Rams but still have a losing record against teams with a winning record. My assumption is they’ll beat CHI but lose to SEA. They’re the third best team in that division.

Speaking of which: I just took a massive Shedeur after overindulging on food the past few days…

I have been down on the Niners all year, but I think they pose the bigger challenge to the Eagles. They do not have recent tape on the Niners as the Eagles have played the Rams this year and we got to their very best because that was their Super Bowl. The Niner D has dealt with big injuries but I have not seen a team that plays as hard and is as physical as the Niners. They fly around and really hit people. Give me the Rams right now!

I also think given the injuries they’ve had the Niners might be playing with a bit of house money? They know if they can stay healthy they can contend most years so to be where they are this year given the injuries is perhaps a surprise?

Bears losing to SF seems legitimately possible.

Our game is also interesting from BUF perspective. My understanding is that if NE beats NYJ at 1pm, then NE has clinched the division. At that point does BUF have anything to play for? So, now I wonder if BUF is the team that rests players in this game.

I've been saying for a while....the Eagles should be resting every key starter/player the next two weeks......If Carter, Baun, Mitchell, Coop, AJ, Barkley, Hurts gets hurt this weekend or next, is the f'ing seeding worth more than health/rest? I'd rather be healthy and rested going into the playoffs. Others want to use this game as a measuring stick....I sure as hell just want everyone to come out unscathed.

And to add to my statement, it is supposed to rain the whole game.....REST EVERYONE

That’s where I lean also
