Avant made some great points about the play calling and the lack of creativity. He and Roob were killing the play design on the last play. And the WRs

Yup. And Hurts threw it into triple coverage because he was staring down Goedert the entire time. Meanwhile, the in to the left was much more open, because of how much he manipulated the LB right to where he was looking to throw the ball. Or throw it to either of the 1 on 1's and hope that your receiver can win, but don't throw it into triple coverage.

Sure, whatever. He could have thrown into tight coverage to the left too I guess. Probably would have been a pick because there were two in routes going right into each other.

Like this isn’t that hard to understand Zach Berman from the divisional round on was saying that Moore was wink wink the next coach of the Saints. Basically everyone knew he was. Especially when they got to conference championship round. Zach Berman and EJ Smith on two different podcasts, they wanted to hire Pattulo and basically all but made it official. like if journalist/reporters know this then it wasn’t a well kept secret.

They really ran 4 verticals on 4th and 11 with the game on the line. Just get rid of them All

Seems to be a good year for a team looking for an OC.

I’d love Stepanski or McDaniels, but unsure if either would be willing to be a OC. It’s an attractive destination too. Great front office, good talent, you pretty much should be granted free rein to run your system. I’m optimistic.

I think the Lions are a far more attractive destination. Plus not sure Mcdaniels will be an option due to his history with Fangio.

Can a new OC keep AJ from forcing a trade?

That one decision doomed the season☹️

It Siri hadnt just won a super bowl id consider that one decision a fire able offense

Part of me wonders if Howie will think this has become a Hasaan Reddick type situation.

No one saw that trade coming but Eagles determined he wasn't a team player and traded him away.

It’s harder to trade him because of his contract. Whereas Hassan Reddick was much more of a movable contract if I remember correctly. I tend to think he is going to be dealt. I think the last straw was that blowup on the sideline between him and Nick Sirianni.

That's not even the real issue, it was after Super Bowl so your candidate choices were limited. No one expects to hire a truly bottom of the barrel candidate, but they probably didn't expect their choices to be any better.

In reality the mistake that should be learned after this is much more fundamental: For some reason (It's Hurts), you have a target on your back when it comes to hiring head coaches. That means you need to do what Miami does. Miami carried two OC worthy candidates into the season behind their OC. You need to actually keep a quality successor handy, if you want to sustain Super Bowl level success.

They thought lightning wouldn't strike twice, but we're the Eagles, we're the one fanbase where it absolutely can strike twice.

Sirianni made the same mistake twice, promoting inexperienced incompetent candidates from within. In the other two years, when he's sought experienced coordinators externally, the offense was much more efficient. And now we can see that the results speak for themselves. Patullo will be fired, and you'll never see him succeed as an OC at this level for one simple reason and it has nothing to do with Hurts. It's because he's a really, really bad offensive mind and coordinator. And for some depressing reason, Sirianni couldn't figure that out before hiring him despite working with him in the same building for years. For a guy who's supposed to be good at culture building, he has a crappy eye for talent and keeps getting into spats with everyone.

I just said what Campbell did. He fired his OC took over play calling and had a top 5 offense. Outside of 2 years of elite OC’s in Moore and Steichen, Siri has been out coached when it matters. As an offense, we have had one of if not the most stacked offense in the league. He’s supposed to be an offensive guy. Don’t call plays, fine. But the unit was bad at every level and he couldn’t fix anything. So the thing he’s supposed to be good at, he can’t help in any way.

The difference between Vic and Desai is obviously the ability to develop and coach talent as well as call plays. Who has Siri developed on the other side of the ball? Who has he coached up? Nobody. Nobody has gotten better bec of him. He has been handed studs all over the roster.

I’ve asked you plenty of times what he does well and you haven’t named one thing. I’m done here. Go give Siri a bj since apparently he’s your man.

I mean, your mention of what happened is objectively wrong and once again ignores everything I said, but go off, king!

"Yes", but the reason isn't because hiring from within is bad, it's because they didn't have the quality candidates on the roster to hire from within from. If you lose an OC after a Super Bowl you have a tremendous disadvantage, but you can mitigate that by stashing a candidate that you already know you want.

Are you related to Nick? Your sole existence here is defending him at all costs.

Don't get me wrong - Patullo definitely deserves to go.

But we also have to acknowledge this was one of Hurts worst years as QB since he has taken over. His desire to minimise his running has a fair bit to do with it, along with OL/lack of top-5 running game he has had most of his career and bad playcalling

You can't run without lanes.

The middle of the OL was terrible. The cancer that was Calc just destroyed so many plays.

Patullo has to be the worst OC of all-time. His masterpiece was 2 fly patterns and 2 slow deep ins vs a nickel D.

Hurts had 34 TDs to only 10 turnovers with just hideous support.

A McNabb type would have gone 8-9.

He carried the offense in several games like the Vikings game and the week 1 Dallas game where the O gave him nothing so he ran to win vs man.

He was so good vs Denver (watch the tape) AJ quit, Goedert whatevered, and his teammates ruined plays with penalties and the refs stole the game at the end.

He still gave DeVonta a great back of the end zone chance that AJ played defense on for some reason.

Hurts was 2019 Wentz but much better.

I would have gone to the 1 on 1 to Smitty as the best option... but it is what it is. Hurts wasn't great today. The whole offense wasn't. And Brown was the worst.

Make more excuses for Siri. Please. It’s all you are. Full of excuses.

Stefanski is most likely getting a HC job.

Question for any OC that is replacing Patullo is can they work with Hurts? Does McDaniel or any other OC candidates want to work with someone like Hurts or a different type of QB?

Weird that Quinyon had his worst while also best game in one game.

That's because a lot of people's sole existence here is eviscerating him at all costs.
