Such a big missed call - the refs were awful and about as one-sided as I have seen in a long time

This is just a tin foil hat thought, but there were a lot of posts on social media heading in to the game how the Eagles were unfairly at an advantage because head official Alan Eck is a PA native and the Eagles were 8-1 in games he officiated. Part of me thinks they were overzealous in calling against the Eagles to erase any doubt that he was a homer trying to help the Eagles.

The refs were NOT the reason the Eagles lost the game, but it was not an evenly officiated game.

Not sure if he'll make a full recovery doesn't sound great. And I'm sure we'll never find out any info on if he gets any work done or procedures done because they never tell us anything for "competitive advantage."

Pick one. AJ or qb1

Part of me wants to say 'is there a neither for 600, Alex?' but I don't think that's realistic. Truth of the matter is, we probably need to do one of three things:

  • Always have a potent running game.

  • Find a true offensive genius who can carry an offense by scheming things open everywhere.

  • Get somebody who can completely reinvent the way Hurts operates in the pocket.

I think these are our only options that are feasible for the time being, unless they want to run Hurts like 10 times a game.

I'll take AJ

Are you related to Nick? Your sole existence here is defending him at all costs.

Like he makes more Fing excuses for Nick Sirianni.

No offense, Kyle Shanahan just won a playoff game down George Kittle, down Nick Bosa, down Fred Warner, down his entire linebacking unit, down a starting wide receiver and managed to score 23 points against a much better defense than the Eagles just played. pattulo is an idiot and deserves to be canned. sirianni isn’t blameless in this. Is he fully to blame? No. There are other factors in this

That said I said it with Doug and I’ll say it with Nick, they are not offensive gurus. No offense to either of them that’s the reality. They have some good qualities you want in a head coach. But if you’re gonna ask him to fix an offense without having a good offensive coordinator, it’s not gonna happen. That is not their bag.

Wild - once the All-22 is out, we can really see some of the insane things that weren't called on the 49ers vs some of the absurd, ticky tack AND SITUATIONAL penalties that were called on us.

Clear as day officiating bias.

At least the announcers called this one out live.

There were others like some of the missed PIs and blatant holding on the last TDs where they didnt even mention it

Landon Dickerson will never be fully healthy. He was playing on borrowed time the minute the Eagles drafted him. They got 5 seasons and a SB trophy with him at LG. I'm listening to any offer for him.

Less effective run game which was partly caused by O-line injuries and Hurts not running nearly as much.

Just about everyone on the O-line took a step back this year, whether from injury or not.

Sirianni and KP deserve blame but Stoutland gets a share of that too this year.

I disagree. He wasnt calling plays thats asked injured guys or backups to execute things they would struggle with

Call the game exactly the same but call the PI on AJ and the blatant hold on Smith on the last TD.

I'm not saying that makes it a good job from the refs but an algorithm looking for refs cheating for gambling purposes would flag this game over those 2 plays.

Avant made some great points about the play calling and the lack of creativity. He and Roob were killing the play design on the last play. And the WRs

Maybe run a rub route there? Actually, I don't think Patullo understands what a rub route is a d why it can work.

I'll be 100% honest. As much as the way the fanbase acts annoys me, I wouldn't mind it if he was fired. I'd do pretty much anything to get the fanbase to act less psychotic so I can actually enjoy Eagles discussion again. I'm not sure having good discussion is better than winning, but I'm kind of over this period of the Eagles fandom. It'd be nice to be able to actually talk about things again rather than it just being so bad we should rename the subforum Vent About the Eagles.

I only feel this way because the fanbase has been so miserable to discuss practically anything with since the summer of 2024 though.

Ridiculous, they're not moving on from Dickerson and/or Jurgens. They may not even move on from Steen. An early round tackle will be high on the priority list for RT. I'd also look to replace Steen but I just don't think they think they need to, hoping I'm mistaken. I'd say bring Becton back but he's also an injury risk so they may not want to go down that road.

I agree with you. I think people are overreacting to the offensive line having a down year for the first time in 5 years. This isn’t like the passing game being wildly inconsistent for the Better parts of the last 2 years Meanwhile, they went into February playing last year. Jurgens was coming off back surgery where he didn’t get to train all off-season. Dickerson hurt his knee in the preseason. probably should’ve missed at least three or four weeks letting that thing heal and maybe even had a surgery that might have taken him more time off. To me you can’t move those contracts anyways and I tend to just think that this offensive line is going to be better next year.

I think OT is a big need. Love Lane but you can’t rely on him being out there for 17 weeks anymore at 35. Fred Johnson is fine if you need to get by for a week or two. The more more he plays the more he’s going to get exposed. You need to invest in that position. Even if he has to sit next year for a large chunk of the season.

I’m speed scrolling through posts so may not understand context.

With that said, Sirianni, whoever the OC is, Hurts and Big Dom need to understand throwing occasional interceptions isn’t some death knell. You cannot call and play an offense whose first and second priority is no turnovers. You need to find the balance and trust your highest paid offense. If the offense isn’t up to it, change it.

Just a few things from today's game.

-George Kittle tore his Achilles and was a non-factor in the game.

-Kyle Juszczyk, who's a good FB, but still a FB, had more yards than AJ Brown. More yards than Dallas Goedert. More Yards than Saquon Barkley and just 11 yards fewer than DeVonta Smith.

-DeMarcus Robinson had more yards than AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith combined.

-Garrett Wallow (who?), has been on the 49ers for a month and led the team with 11 tackles and a pass defended.

-Erik Kendricks has been on the 49ers for less than 2 months and was 2nd on the team in tackles, and make key pass break up.

-The Eagles, playing against 3rd and 4th team LB, threw over the middle of the field what seemed like twice? Dallas Goedert had 4 catches...4 catches against street level LB.

-Brock Purdy threw 2 INTs.

-Christian McCaffery was a non-factor on the ground, running for 48 yards.

-Jalen Hurts had his 11th game with less than 200 yards passing and his 9th game with less than 1 TD passing. His QBR was 40.8

-AJ Brown had as many drops as he did receptions.

The Eagles were pathetic today. I'd fire Sirianni. Fire KP. Look to trade AJ Brown, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens at the very least. I'm trying to find any way possible to slash money on offense.

Those two passes over the middle came in the 4th quarter on the last drive.

Just horrible play calling and O scheme.

Jurgens dickerson gone would be a plus.

I dont think jurgens is going to get better from his back injury, hes awful and its too bad his back ruined him.

Dickerson who was a known injury liability when drafted was a great talent but i jury after injury has wrecked him and its run its course, hes washed, time to cut bait if they can.

Thanks for the super bowl guys.

AJ looks slow, i think his knee is done, and barring a medical miracle His knee and him arent getting better.

Its really too bad because when all 3 of these guys bodies are some what right theyre studs.

AJ looked to be on a HOF trajectory but that trajectory looks like another guy whose career is cut short or diminished by bad knees☹️

Same with Dickerson and jurgen bad back.

Howie committed alot of money to all 3 so not sure how feasible cutting or trading any of them is.

But yeah all 3 were a problem this year, especially jurgens.

I think it's just human nature for the refs to favor the underdog, you have to expect it a little bit. They did give Hurts a late hit that was super soft.

I'm just embarrassed that this collection of players couldn't get out of the Wildcard round. IMO it's obviously a spectacular coaching failure.

Give me AJ with a QB who can throw the ball on a consistent basis. I love the intangibles Jalen Hurts brings to the game. He's a terrific person from everything you read about him. He's just not a very good passing QB. He's a game manager. A game manager is great if you have pedestrian WR, maybe guys like DeMarcus Robinson?

This offense has a top 5 and top 10 WR, a top 5 TE and the best RB in the NFL.

QB1 threw for 200 or less in 11 games.

QB1 threw for 150 yards or less in 6 games.

QB1 threw for 1 TD or less in 9 games.

We'll probably never know if the offense is held back because of the OC or because of the QB. It's probably a little of both. Part of me just wants to see what this offense can do with a true passing QB.

I was very adamant that Sirianni should have been dismissed after the 2023 season because he had lost the locker room. From 10-1 to barely getting into the playoffs followed by a blow out loss was a loud red flag. I believe he should be removed now for his laissez faire approach to leadership this year. All great leaders know when to step in when things are going sideways. I was absolutely stunned when he announced that the idiot OC was working on his own without collaboration...that is a fireable offense, but I just don't think Lurie is going to pull the trigger. I don't think the Eagle fans will get too upset about it...

Sirianni is too much of an egomaniac to change on that. He will need to be removed from influence of the offense.
