If the 49ers beat Seattle, which i dont think will happen, does this loss not seem as bad?

I'm just picturing Sam Darnold throwing 3 interceptions next week. 49ers got a ton of confidence after winning today's game. Who knows?

no, the eagles lost to a handicapped team

Yes. They beat themselves. And yes they are handicapped. 😅

I suspect most of the offseason will be spent adding to the offense considering the defense is set up so much better for the future given their age. But other than the obvious need for CB2, I wonder if Howie is going to be satisfied with his Edge group. It was really disappointing this season. Well actually I shouldn't say disappointing as I expected them to lack an elite pass rusher given their awful offseason addressing the position. Does Howie think Phillips is the answer? Nolan Smith did not have a great year. Will they chalk that up to his triceps and with an offseason of rest he'll be back next season on the rise? The rumors about Howie pursuing Garrett just haven't gone away, but I don't know how they can afford it. I gotta think he's going to want to use his picks to address OL, TE, etc on offense though.

The back end was awful, epps and Blank played horribly, bad angles, missed tackles, missed assignments and Baun was lost as well all game. Didnt help that the DL got minimal pressure without blitzing.

Im hoping with a full off season carter comes back to be a game wrecker, hes coming off double shoulder surgery and before that surgery couldnt do a push up, hopefully he can get right

Nolan, and hunt and phillips minus one play by phillips were invisible, sure the niners got away with some holds but thats not an excuse.

I really like Blankenship but he was awful today and I cant see eagles re upping him.

Shanahan put the eagles safeties in the spin cycle today and im not sure Makuba is the answer.

I never liked the pick but well see.

I still cannot get over what Reed was doing on that CMC trick play td. It was comparable to the Ringo effort from last week.

They’ll try to delay firing Patullo for a few days so they don’t embarrass him by doing it instantly. But the phone calls to the candidates are going to start tomorrow if they haven’t already.

F that. Let him come tomorrow to take his stuff and revoke his access to the building. The guy is an apology for a OC in the 21st century.

Totally. Thats what we were hanging our hat on. That this was back to being a Championshop defense. Not today. Letting Jags beat us with big chunk and trick plays hearken back to the Chiefs loss in the Superbowl. With guys like Juju and Skyy Moore beating us. Very tough to accept all of this today. Defense had a clunker.

Yup they did, and if the O had any semblence of functionality the D today as off as they were would have been enough to win.

Q had two picks and they turned those into 3 points.

Eagles win the turnover battle 2-0 and lost the game because the offense in the second half disappeared.

Defense gave the offense every opportunity to win that game and siri and patullo said thanks but no thanks

Cant expect the D to win every game.

Honestly im not upset. Eagles played today like they have all year. O sucks for 3/4 of the game the D bails them out they win and after the O says we gotta be better well get it fixed but we won and even if its ugly winning is all that matters.

Well today was plenty ugly but they didnt win.

Lucky for them they have all winter and spring and summer to fix it.

They can start by getting a real OC.

Yeah I forgot by years end defenses were calling out the eagles plays, and part of that is on Siri as BJ was running Siris offense.

Siri needs to hire an experienced OC who like Vic isnt looking to be a head coach, im not sure who that is but if theyre arent any, any time a young guy comes in and has success theyll leave for a HC gig and were stuck with clueless Siri.

So either find an experienced non seeking HC OC or fire Siri and Bring in a head coach that knows how to call plays.

I think this is easier said than done. Because people believed monken didn’t want to become a head coach. And now he’s taking job interviews at 59 years old.

I think the other issue is if you bring in somebody like that and The eagles offense takes off next year then there’s still a chance he gets interviews for HC job. (I think it’s much different with defensive coaches as it’s a offensive driven league— even some defensive coaches who’ve failed as HC prior still get second HC jobs and are likely better suited for just being a DC— Vance Joseph has interviews and imo he’s a DC not a HC). Taking an offense that analytically is one of the bottom 10 in the league and if the Eagles begin to flourish into a top five tells me that the OC had a massive part in that turnaround. So what makes me think he couldn’t do that with us if I need a head coach.

Top 5. And even if we had a top 5 pick, would never happen with Barkley here, and on his contract.

You know who looked like a perfect fit for this offense? Bigsby.

I think he once again got one carry after rolling them inside the 20 in Q2

What if Seattle also loses to a handicapped team?

Yup. He made a couple other mistakes taking bad angles and missing tackles that led to big plays, whatever he was doing on that trick play td was inexcusably bad.

I’d be really shocked unless something like Darnold got knocked out and then I’d be less

And yet we all watch.

For now, anyway.

Officiating isn’t perfect nor is it expected to be but at the very least, it should be balanced - meaning you either make the same calls for/against both teams or you don’t make them at all.

It’s that simple.

He is right

The refs let 49ers get away with too much whereas every little tick-tack call on the Eagles after they made a play got called.

Tin foil man would say this was the NFL getting the Eagles back for the Tush Push offseason drama....

Now that the season has played out, I’m pretty sure that may have had a lot to do with it.

That’s exactly what I I said earlier. How do you call 4 go routes into the endzone when all you needed was a first down, with 2 timeouts left?

Yup leads it back to how important it is to have a head coach who can call or is really good at game planning. Neither of which Siri is good at☹️

Siri is a good rah rah guy, hes an unshaven emotionally unstable clapper. Hes good at building culture or at least he was as it seems his message and antics have grown stale, I think partly due to offensive skill players realizing he and his OC are high school level offensive minds. Players esoecially skill playets are competitive they want to win and be successful and when they dont believe their coaches cant help them succeed and win locker rooms tune out.

AJ definitely tuned out this year and Im sure other guys think its a 💩 show as well but just dont say so.

Im not sure going forward with siri is going to get any more superbowls but as long as Howie keeps giving him lots of talent theyll always be in the thick of it and until he starts losing howie and Lurie wont fire him, so heres to hoping they take a nose dive nex year miss the playoffs and siri gets fired or they play well and make a deep run, because I dont know how much more Incan take playing ugly all year and getting bounced early☹️

The craziest stat of the season for me. Eagles #1 in the Red Zone for TDs. Incompetent everywhere else on the field. Makes no sense whatsoever.
