I’m keeping Dean for sure he is better than Jihad and there are rushers in this draft

Campbell was a rookie and started the year hurt. Give him time.

25. Regarding A.J. Brown, the Eagles are undecided on keeping him or not. They are definitely listening and are open to moving him as has been widely reported. But one thought around Brown possibly leaving that I hadn’t heard before was that the Eagles LOVE DeVonta Smith. They think, as good as he’s been in the NFL, he still hasn’t reached his full potential and has "another gear” he can get to. That, if Smith were given the same kind of target share as Jaxon Smith-Njigba, he could have that kind of year. They believe in his talent that much and that’s among the many reasons they would be okay moving Brown.

From that Matthew Berry article. Interesting that he, Berman and others have been pushing the "unlock DeVonta Smith” angle recently.

That perspective is coming from the coaching staff. I know Sirianni is at the combine. I expect Mannion is with them too. I wonder if they are getting that perspective from him directly.

How quickly people forget that Nakobe Dean did absolutely nothing until his 3rd year, yet they want to write off Campbell after a rookie year in which he showed more than Dean in his first two.

Mike Sando polled four execs to map out the top 10. The article was interesting. Two execs had projected Tennessee to take Faulk while two others picked Tate. He went to a fifth exec to break the tie and he said Faulk wasn’t a first round prospect, so Sando went with Tate.

Dean, I think, looked decent when he did play. The bigger issue were his injuries. Campbell had flashes. Dean just played better when he was on the field and understood the defense better. Dean played at an all-pro level. The team just can't afford to keep him and other younger players. If they hadn't re-signed Baun last offseason, keeping Dean would be a priority. Because they did keep him and invested in Campbell, they need to let him go.

If they are getting stuck with an international game let's hope it is the one in Cartel Land so there isn't a ton of travel.

Interesting - Fano is light and sawed off, so not a slam dunk -and- they must love Peter Woods' 2024 film because he didn't do much this year, came to the combine sub-300 and didn't work out.

They're putting this out there now in case he's moved they can say, well we believe in Smith. I don't think Smith can carry the load a AJ can, awesome receiver, but we would need another.

I think there’s a big difference between AJ getting a ton of targets and what we saw last year. AJ expects the passing game to be humming, and when it isn’t AND he isn’t getting any touches it makes sense why he would be frustrated. Don’t buy into the media narrative about him. He is way less of a diva than most other WR1s.

I don't think he cares about the passing game humming, based on his own words. He cares about dominating the opposing CBs, you can assume that also means the passing game is humming but what I hear is as long as he gets his targets he doesn't care. I'd have to go back and look but this past season he cried about how he was being used, then had 3 games in a row over 100 yards but they lost every game and he was far less vocal

That wouldn't be a good signing. He's not that good anymore and at that point, might as well just keep Goedert.

A little over rated to me. Just bring back Goedert. Really not getting the vibe it's going to be a good off-season following the trend from last off season.

Yup would be a terrible day 1 signing but then i noticed who said it…

Is ESP reporting the interest or passing off some information from someone else? I haven’t seen him break any Eagles news since DJax’s gang ties…

Maybe it's a ploy to bring down Goedert's number

He said it on the radio a minute ago and sounded like reporting. He kept saying last year before free agency Eagles would be in on Ojulari, but might have just been blind squirrel finding a nut and all.

All a numbers game. Goedert coming of a career year will be able to land a larger contract than Njoku. Not a bad move if they can get him on a reasonably cheap deal. That is exactly what they need to do if they let Goedert walk and that is bring in someone who can be a competent starter and theb also try to draft a TE that they can develop into the long term answer.

He updated it. Taking out Day 1 signing, he probably overstated the Eagles actual interest

Rank these options in order for the Eagles

Trading for Michael Mayer

Signing Njoku

Signing Dawson Knox(if/when released)

Re-signing Goedert

Obviously depends on price but assuming they would all cost the same

Knox

Goeddert

Njoku

Mayer

I don't think njoku would be bad IF be came cheaper than goeddert

Knox would be that dude.

Maybe Likely if not too expensive.

No idea how the cap works with us potentially trading AJ but if we could get a 1st and more and then go sign Mike Evans that could get interesting quickly.

Add Kmet to the list. He might get released.
