Phillips, at the right price. I'd bring Ushe back. And they need to draft well... again. That's the issue with the roster. Lots of players coming up for new contracts and limited money available. Howie pays big money to a lot of players, and that comes at a cost. The salary cap is finite, there's not endless money there.

It's not a smart use of resources. TOp TEs can be found later in the draft and the delta between them and the top guys isn't enough to justify it IMO.

Kittle, for example, was a 5th round pick. Kraft was 3rd round. 2nd round is the highest I'd go.

I actually believe he was turning to cover the guy that was his responsibility. My criticism of his play there was turning his back like that. Major failure in zone. Let’s say the ball was thrown. That was brought up earlier, and I get it. Ive been in the same boat forever. Counterpoints-

1. This year, when you have a freak like Sadiq, or depending on where you stand on Stower's blocking you may be able to include him as well- the delta may actually exist. Not all years, but with these prospects, this year.... Most years the top TE ends up running like a mid-4.6 and then the guys on the combine telecast have to pretend like thats wonderful. Its good enough but they hype it up for the top ranked guys and its not special. This year we have freak athletes who really do look special as receivers. Most years you are right. This year, there is an argument to be made.

2. The re-draft argument. If you know how Kittle and Kraft turned out, therye being selected much earlier. Teams arent leaving them in round 5 (or 3) because of positional value. Theyre taking them early because we now know what they are. If you think you have a player on that elite level, you should probably not assume youll get one later instead.

3. The offense this year may make the all around TE a focal point. It becomes more important to hit on that pick, rather than hope youll find one in round 5. Its like finding a NT for a fangio system that revolves around it. Relies on it. Its pivotal. It changes the math of positional importance/value.

Yes the devils who sit second to last in the eastern conference (15th out of 16 teams)… behind the Flyers….

Just to point this out since Harris became owner (Aug 14 2013) of the devils they’ve missed the playoffs in 9 of 12 seasons (if they miss this year will be 10 of 13) and they also haven’t been to an eastern conference finals…both the Flyers and devils since Harris has taken over have won a grand total of 1 playoff series (sadly Flyers have actually made the playoffs 1 more time than the decils)

So they have made the playoffs more than the Flyers have since Ed Snyder died. In fact they have made the playoffs twice in the past 4 years while the Flyers haven't even made the playoffs in 7 years during that phony covid season. Further he developed Jack Hughes into what he was to do what he needed to do to bring us Gold at the Olympics. We wouldn't have that Gold medal if not for Josh Harris being the one to draft and develop Hughes.

Oh my God they made the playoffs then they lost in the first round and didn’t do anything. Harris want a cookie for making the playoffs? I’d add before he took over, they had made the playoffs 8 out of 10 seasons, won a series in a postseason 4 times, in those previous 10 seasons leading up to his arrival got to the Stanley cup 2 times, won a cup and were 2 seasons removed from a cup finals appearance.

Another stat the devils in the 12 seasons with Harris as owner have finished last or 2nd to last in the division 8 of the 12 years. As of right now they are on pace for 9 of 13 seasons. What an owner….

With your logic on Hughes should thank the Winnipeg jets owner for hellebuyck and every owner who had a player on the US national team. Meanwhile hellebuyck was drafted 130 and Hughes was 1st overall cause the devils were awful to get him

The Flyers have Fing sucked too. But the devils have been awful with him as owner.

I agree with the guy Connor brought up, and I brought his name up the other day. Jalen Nailor at WR. If a guy like Alex Pierce is about to break the bank which is kinda crazy, and maybe even Shaheed gets paid a bit more than we want to spend, Nailor is a guy buried on a depth chart who looks like he can help a team with a bigger opportunity.

I like Pierce, not sure what he's going to be paid though. I think he's pretty good and the arrow is pointing up. Can be a good part of a core but he's not a true #1 or dominant like AJ. Ravens, Bills, Pats should be all over him.

I have been a fan since the draft. I think clearly his team/QB so far in his career has not put him in position to succeed. He had a bit of a breakout this year with a better QB in Daniel Jones.

He should be a top tier #2 and with Smith here and the potential to move on from AJ at some point soon, thats exactly what we need.

I wish he was going to be affordable since his career hasnt stacked up to his awesome height weight speed combine workout. But it sounds like he is getting a big deal.

Shaheed would be awesome too as a field stretcher, and offering value as a legitimate kick returner. But he will probably be priced out of our range too even if his contract is more modest than Pierce's.

Nailor is the sleeper who should be affordable.

That game he is playing Arc Raiders is great by the way. Best new multiplayer game to come out in 7 years.
