Can't remember the last time Howie got taken for a ride in a contract negotiation like this.Let's hope JD keeps his weight down and keep his play up.This is what everyone was saying about Milton Williams and now are pissed WE didn't resign him and pay him that money... We can't have it both ways, I don't believe the JC rumors but I could see the Birds doing that..he is a wildcard with his emotions and his attitude on the field...I like his aggression and the fear he puts in opposing teams but I also believe he could be the next Sue and be more trouble than he's worth plusthe package we could get in return for him COULD be great enough to to keep other guys like Q and Coop and not have so mush tied up in 2 DTs.

March 8Mar 8 https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-s-top-50-2026-nfl-draft-prospect-rankings-3-0This isnt a mock, but based on rankings sweet spots are 26-31, and 40-45If Proctor is the BPA at 23, Id be moving down to those spots.
March 8Mar 8 Love the Davis extension. They rewarded a guy who transformed himself. It sets an example for the rest of the team.Jalen Carter was a huge disappointment last year. Everyone needs to acknowledge that. If he has a huge year next year and walks because he’s angry that he didn’t get an extension this offseason…well…that’s a risk they have to take. They can’t give him a mega deal right now.
March 8Mar 8 Jeremy Fowler says the Eagles are interested in trading for Jonathan Greenard if they can’t sign Phillips.

Nobody knows what his cap hit will be, you see he signed with one of the top agencies to get what he believeshe deserves..nobody expected Williams to get what he got because he really did nothing until the final year...Ojomo has shown way more then Williams didover his time here.

You have to reward guys who work hard to set the example in the locker room. Paying Carter is the inverse of that.

Next to zero chance he doesn’t sign Carter, imo.

March 8Mar 8 Fowler also says the Eagles are taking calls on Carter. I think this goes beyond "we’ll listen on anyone.”

Not that they're fielding them. Small but a big difference.I think this is yet another thing this offseason Eagles related that people are taking and running with based on unsubstantiated rumors. If it weren't for that Micah Parsons thing he said, which has not been confirmed or "RickeyScoops" then no one would even be talking about this.I don't believe there is any chance he is traded.

Not just because of trading Carter, but because people will expect a huge return. Id guess that any/all of the reasons the eagles are willing to trade him are the reasons why the compensation will be lower than fans expect.

Could be the same for Carter if any talks are really happening.

I just see it as teams smelling blood in the water. It doesn’t mean he’s getting moved, but teams sense that he’s available beyond the cursory "everyone is available for the right price.”
March 8Mar 8 I could see the Eagles swing a deal for Wicks. Frustrating player but he gets open. Would the Eagles have interest in Johnston as a gadget big slot?

Christian Watson is a playmaker who also drops balls and is always injured. The rest are complete trash. 0 interest.Bateman is serviceable but Nailor is just as good and wont cost anything in a trade.Quentin Johnston would be interesting as a good #2. But this is a deep, deep WR draft. I wouldnt trade for anyone till you see how the draft plays out.

March 8Mar 8 Just now, ManuManu said:Nailor is going to get real money it sounds like.really? damn. Sounds like there will be no affordable WRs at all. Hes probably bottom tier of anyone Id be interested in.
March 8Mar 8 The Eagles already used too many picks on guys that doesn't have any real value(sans Bigsby). I'd prefer they just keep their picks. I'd be ok taking a shot on Wicks if it was a player for player trade. Like Ringo or Sydney Brown.
March 8Mar 8 8 minutes ago, HazletonEagle said:really? damn. Sounds like there will be no affordable WRs at all. Hes probably bottom tier of anyone Id be interested in.Yeah. Last year Dyami Brown and Tutu Atwell got $10M a year. Team get dumb in FA, and there’s a lot of money out there.
March 8Mar 8 Bring back Olamide. I thought he looked good with the Bears on limited targets. Is a quality slot WR in a real offensive system and I think he'd fit the Shanahan scheme well. He works the middle of the field and knows Hurts from 2023.
March 8Mar 8 I know this isnt the most accurate, but theres nothing else to really go by.Mooney seems doable. And probably the top guy we could hope for. Surprised Kirk is so low. Thatd be good.Nailor is at 4.7M. Thats a buy. At Dotson and Metchie's prices, bring them both back. Thats combined about 4M for the 2 of them.Sleeper- when guys beat you your team notices and sometimes they end up future free agent signings. Why did Lil'Jordan Humphrey frustrate the hell out of us when we played Denver? He had 4 catches for 55 yards on 8 targets. Were they all first downs? Or was he just getting wide open somehow? Anyway, his game against us stood out for some reason. Maybe hes a cheap signing they go after for depth. Hes known as a good blocker.
March 8Mar 8 hey cap guys @vikas83 @LeanMeanGM Whats the word on the impact of a Jalen Carter trade? Free up any cap this season? Also, whats the impact on future seasons where suddenly you dont have to give him that 100M dollar contract? Which season were you projecting his extension to kick in and how much more cap do we have there if we trade him?

March 8Mar 8 From a GM and 30,000’ perspective, I just don’t think there is any good reason to give Philips good money to stay here. Left to his own devices, I really don’t think Howie would do it (and I don’t think he should).Phillips is a massive ongoing injury risk. He was an edge setter here, but not a pass rusher. He’s just not going to torture QBs or disrupt the passing game…both Nolan Smith and Hunt have more pass rush upside at this point. But Phillips sets the edge, is a very balanced edge…and Vic likes him. They almost lost Vic to retirement, so I’m sure promising to keep Phillips on board was a major overture from Lurie/Howie to Vic in the offseason. All things being equal, I’m happy to have Phillips on the roster. But at what cost? Ignore the dollar figure. Let’s talk personnel. The 4 players I want extended are Davis (done), Carter (looking more uncertain than ever) and Mitchell/Dejean (can’t do it yet but need to plan for it). If re-signing Phillips risks one of them, it’s not even remotely worth it.
