Last year they traded CJGJ and then drafted his replacement in the 2nd round in Mukuba. Jalyx Hunt was a 3rd round Edge drafted and then in his 2nd year became our best Edge, actually led the team in INTs as well. Steen was a 3rd rounder who became a starter. Milton Williams a 3rd rounder who then got his big contract elsewhere. Ojomo a 7th rounder replaced his production.

Every year some fans panic only hours into the first day of free agency. Howie's built a very successful roster since 2021. He's earned patience.

Agreed, but there still needs to be something legit done about edge rusher. They can't go into the season with Hunt, Smith, and this year's Ojulari and Uche clearance signings.

If Evan’s is healthy that’s a good pickup for the Niners I think with that offense.

Niners have horrible luck with health though.

We were discussing the Eagles playing the comp pick game and possibly signing Chubb.

I don't believe in the benefit of the doubt thing. I always call it how I see it. I also don't believe in waiting until free agency is over to judge it. You judge it minute by minute, day by day. Last season I thought free agency sucked early on, and people would say the same thing. "Trust, Howie... it's early in free agency, he deserves the benefit of the doubt... give it a chance.... let's see how this looks in May" etc. Turns out it was exactly what it looked like it was. A disastrous offseason that went a long way toward impacting their disappointing 2025 season.

That doesn't mean this offseason will be that, but you can only judge it as it comes. To this point I think the Eagles offseason has been pretty terrible. Maybe that changes in a week.

I don’t know if it’s just smoke around Becton but some said he had regressed and started acting all weird again.

Also CJGJ would be a no for me. Locker room already has enough problems and no one seems to want that dude.

There's been two separate reports that Eagles aren't interested in Becton

So we are back to having no edge pass rushers. Cool.

I would prefer Chubb or Greenard to keep that 3rd round comp pick for Phillips in play. However, I wouldn't be the slightest bit disappointed if Howie said F it and signed Hendrickson. At his age they could probably get him on a short term deal which wouldn't have a negative effect on cap space for extensions with guys like Carter, Q, and Coop and if he is fully healthy he is easily an upgrade to Jaelan Phillips. Howie should absolutely know after the SB win against the Chiefs and the Seahawks SB win this season that having legit edge rushers is a must. Hunt, Smith, and this year's versions of Ojulari and Uche isn't going to cut it.

The counterpoint is there's no one that has signed so far that I think we should have paid. Maybe Likely as a TE option. JP for $30mm AAV is insane and I'm glad Howie didn't do that. I want to see Chubb or Greenard.

LMAO, the offseason started 3 hours ago. Hendrickson, Oweh, Mafe, Paye, Chubb, Bosa, still available in free agency and supposedly Greenard is available in a trade.

Well, looks like if we did it, would cancel out the 6th for Dotson. And Dean and Goedert still could add to the comp pick pile. Remember, they are offset worst to best.

Yes, if they can add a quality Edge that will change the vibes for the time being. I'm not really interested in Chubb but I would be trading for Greenard depending on price.

a 3 year 60 million deal for a 32 year old WR that is coming off of a historically underproductive year and season ending injury? I guess that's close to what Davante Adams received but I think it's not a great bet.

Howie doesn't go into the draft with any glaring needs, so he will acquire an EDGE by trade or free agency.
