Giants could be a problem next year

How did they not think it was a good idea to see how the surgeries/rehabs went when both were dealing with back issues

The back issue was Cam. The Eagles drafted the #2 C last year, Kendall. Once he was available, they brought in the C (Majors), that was on the #1 OL in college the year before and after drafting the RT from that OL. As a stop gap until they were ready, they brought back Toth to fill in.

Me too. I'm borderline starting to get annoyed now.

Trying to minimize how much worse you get is understandable after a SB run but after last year it's not going to cut it. Need to see something soon

Wake up Howie

This is starting to look early similar to last off-season already, which wasn't a good one, and resulted in a down season (for the Eagles standards.) I would like to think that Howie learned from those mistakes and there is still time but the vibes aren't good.

Good point. And oh yeah last year was a failed off season

Honestly, the year before he signed Barkley and got lucky with Baun because Vic moved him or it would have been as well with Huff. Howie hasn't been good in FA as he has been drafting.

Right now we are kind of in that limbo zone where we don’t know if the Eagles have some grand plan or if they plan on just being super cheap this offseason. If we see Goedert signs with a team for like 8m AAV and we didn’t match it then I’m gonna be pissed because at that point it’ll be obvious they just don’t plan on spending anything this offseason. Hopefully they have something cooking at Edge, TE , or Safety

Howie gambled future money in the now to build a SB roster (got there 2 of 3 years), but the bill was going to become due at some point. Extending players like Hurts, Brown, Graham and Johnson with void years (etc) helped but it limits future flkex. The lack of flex now is that bill having to be paid down. The flip side is they put a lot of effort into scouting and getting the right players in, so its more a mixed issue than we're doomed.

Don't be angry. Be blessed we've been to 3 SBs in 8 years when teams like the Cowboys can only watch their last SB on VHS.

And some trades were made last season (Carter, Bigsby) with this offseason in mind. But yes, I'd love to see a massive FA signing, won't happen unless they find a lot of unused cap space.

I’m sure AJ Brown is playing a large role in this. I didn’t expect us to be active in FA, and with Phillips leaving it makes sense to avoid a big signing to protect the comp 3. I’m sure Goedert and resolution there is second on the priority list. TE is fairly picked over. The best options, potentially, are players who may get cut or traded for cheap like Dawson Knox and Cole Kmet. Maybe a Friermuth or Mayer.

Oh goody, just what we need, three late day 3 picks next year

AVT is a good player but has an extensive injury history. Thought Steen played ok. He isn't the people mover that Becton was but he did fine. Curious to see what the contract looks like for AVT

Steen may look better in the new blocking scheme.

Would be interesting to know what the 'up to' means

In case you missed it, we’re going to sacrifice our entire FA to get the 3rd round pick we get for losing the guy we gave up the 3rd round pick for so he could play 8-9 games.

It shouldn’t. Trading him would always be stupid for multiple reasons, one being the cap. They need to cut the crap.

Seriously, let's just blame AJ for everything groovy

I'm thinking a DG88 extension today ..2 year 21 million and maybe a trade...AB11 or making a deal for Greenard...maybe a 4th. Would surprise me if they sign Woolen but maybe signing Andre Cisco

with a prove it deal ...

They were going tp spend 20 million on JP. They have money to spend. I'm good with not signing a big name but I couldn't care less losing a 5th or 6th round comp pick when they will have to trade a 3rd or 4th at the deadline to make a move.

Everything? No. But we can’t ignore the complexity of the situation.

A 6 feels low for Nakobe. Becton signed for less and it got them a 5th

They probably will sign someone in that range. Or they'll trade a 4-6 for someone who they'll get for a better $ value.

But sure I'm antsy too until it happens

I agree that they have money to spend, but sometimes those contingency plans get swallowed up while waiting for the big fish. There’s plenty of money season left and players who can help. It makes sense to let the FAs wait out the market a bit to avoid paying stupid money like team did yesterday.
