And if they look excellent through 5-6 games next year, Howie can go nuts trading for players to win a SB next year at the trade deadline. And if they are a mess, we'll be very happy they are less hindered in embracing that transition.

yeah, the playoff game is the one that sticks out the most. but those mistakes get magnified over all the other plays. I think he'll be greatly missed in the end.

Exactly. Last year people were also down on Mukuba as a rookie learning on the job. People criticized Dean a lot, and Reed especially last year.

Now anytime their replacements make one mistake some fans will compare them to the positive highlight reels of the players that left and complain we should have kept them.

I’ll be shocked if they draft a safety high. Very shocked. It would have to be someone head and shoulders BPA that falls to them imo.

Depends on what the definition of high is. I think relatively high would be 3rd round. I’m guessing with the class being strong they take one 3rd round or 4th. Imo besides Mukuba who may or may not work out, they don’t have anyone young that can move there besides DeJean. They keep saying they don’t want to do that with him. So if that’s true they should draft one between rounds 2-5 to groom

I view it this way, if brisker or cross make 4-5 mil per year, how much better is Reed Blankenship coming off his 2025 season to them? Imo might get better or similar value from them and potentially (likely) pay them less than Reed

He's an interesting upside play as someone with comparable specs to Josh Sweat...but he's literally not half the pass rusher Sweat is. And his contract just blew him out of the water. Frankly, it's a terrible deal for a guy who is a 50/50 shot to be healthy and is overwhelmingly likely to simply be a nice, balanced DE that doesn't disrupt the QB that much.

In a way, I'm almost disappointed the Eagles were as motivated as they were to keep him.
