I agree the lack of health was an issue but it's not like Dickerson or Jurgens missed games. Howie wasn't deciding who was starting. His mistake on offense was arguably at TE but I think if BVS had stayed healthy that would have been less of an issue. The talent on the roster last season was good. The coaching was inept. The offensive line played poorly and Hurts did not play well. Almost all of the significant losses last offseason were on defense. The defense wasn't the reason the team did not repeat. That team lacked depth, which cost them the Giants game in which Q and Carter couldn't play. And Broncos game with Pryor being terrible. 2 games that last year's team wins with depth. And not even close. And even the last Commanders game where backups played, also showed the lack of depth from previous year. Should beat that minor league team with playing their 3rd string QB Josh Johnson. Terrible! On the defensive side, it just ran out of gas because of the lack of depth. Also, that was not a championship defense. Inconsistent overall. Too many holes at safety and CB. Defensive line was solid, but not championship good without MW and Sweat. Seahawks had a better defense by a solid margin. People have overstated the coaching and/or injuries as the problems last year to cover this all up.

Signing Becton or another back-up OG wasn't going to change that ineptitude. The defense did get worn down and that was because of snap count. We are lucky we had Fangio instead of Billy Davis.

To feel this way kinda sucks, considering where we stood 13.5 months ago. Looking for at least 2 championship type moves for the rest of this offseason, to make me feel differently. I'll let you know when I see them. Dart throwing the rest of the way ain't gonna get this done. Need impact players for TODAY!

It was a glorious experience that became less glorious once I got a real job and had drunk people calling me in the middle of the night. The last of my roommates who lived at that apartment moved out in about 2005, and it hasn't been in service in my area code since.
March 23Mar 23 Ioane and Max Iheanachor with the first two picks would be a dream. And very unlikely.

Way to wait again and have the market reset.Remember when everyone said he was a "slot only" guy and then he didn't get picked until 20th overall? That is exactly why I scoff at people for saying the same thing about Omar Cooper Jr. or just about anyone for that matter.

I think people will see when AJ is gone, whether it's this year or next year, that Devonta isn't a true #1. He's a route running master and a technician, but he's not overly big, he's not an incredible athlete. He does a lot for his size, but I think his production actually drops, not increases, when teams don't have to worry about another #1 on the other side and can focus entirely on covering Devonta. He's not in that Chase, Jefferson, JSN tier. He just isn't. And it would be bad business to pay him as such. You never cease to amaze me with just how bad your takes are.
March 23Mar 23 4 hours ago, NOTW said:Bro, you spent the first few days of free agency complaining about how terrible free agency was going and complained about last year. Most fans understand the plan. There are some though, who have screamed for 2 years that Howie is failing the offseason. And they aren't necessarily mad about some players leaving, but there are a lot of complaints that Howie didn't spend bigger money to replace them. To the bolded, not "everyone" was cool with Phillips leaving, many wanted him kept and were mad they didn't replace him with a better option than Arnold Ebiketie. It's just funny seeing different complaints from some fans about not keeping good players, then other posts suggesting trading away our good players (like DeVonta Smith). So anyway here are just a few of your posts complaining they let players leave town...I believe that is "bringing receipts" as the kid would say. The fraud just got fraud checked yet again, lol.
March 23Mar 23 I totally understand Howie's approach. He's leaving money to sign his stars but he's also trying to improve in areas when the opportunity is right. He wanted Phillips but had a walk away number. He's always looking for the next opportunity. Sometimes that doesn't surface as fast as people would like. Ultimately he has to stack enough quality low cost moves with good drafting and likely one move like Greenard. That's really hard to do. Usually one of two GMs a year have the combo of skill and luck to thread that needle.

That shouldnt be used against him.Every scout is going to plant their flag on a player or a few. So I guess Miller is one of McShay's guys. But Miller very clearly has weaknesses.
