There's a happy middle of being cautiously optimistic. Offense doesn't have to that much improvement to be better than last year. With or without AJ. Seahawks lost Metcalf and were better off. See a similar possibility here...if...Howie continues upgrading here til September. Which again, I assume he will.Reality will set in soon for a lot of wishful thinkers here about compensation in an AJ deal. There's probably one real bidder here. In the history of sports or business, this usually favors the buyer, not the seller. I thought Howie had leverage. No not in this situation, if you can see it objectively. Funny stuff I read in here. I'm happy with Waddle value here if Howie can get it. About 700 points on the Jimmy Johnson chart. That's it.You mean to tell me multiple teams aren't lining up to trade for a 29 year old WR with bad knees, declining numbers, who also happens to be a massive pain in the a** and wants a new deal? Shocker.

I feel that every single metric suggests that Barkley was less effective as a runner.I think we are asking the offense to defy gravity and physics by believing that Barkley can still be that effective and that we can get pro-bowl seasons out of Dickerson and Jurgens.I see an over-the-hill RB, a below average OL, and one good WR that could be two if they don't trade Brown.Barkley was spent last year from the previous year and his new demanding career in endorsements. That's part of it. He doesn't have to be Superman with Tank. People probably thought Derrick Henry was washed years ago. Still pretty good. Barkley. Same. A step down for him is still dang good. But last year he did too much dancing, admittedly.

Interesting. I've said it looked like he gave up on some routes (not all)I don't mind him saying the offense sucked because it did and he wasn't the only one that complained. I expect the #1 WR to want the ball

And the sentiment and good will that AJ shows that organization makes this a pretty good match. And maybe the only good one out there. Kind of like when Eagles needed TO as that final piece. They can smell a championship with this move. It totally makes sense for both sides to take the leap here. Also, what team awants to pay this guy long term after last year? Risky...

It's like the worst kept secret in the league at this point that he is getting traded there post June 1st. I just hope Howie can salvage the situation and get a first round pick. Unfortunately he has no leverage at this point.

The fact that people still defend this guy is laughable and pathetic.

I think they valued him as a late 1st rounder in compensation (this year's 31st). Howie will be creative and get similar value. May take 2 picks and a player to make it seem more than it is, giving it the appearance of value. Or maybe a conditional pick to capture upside if they win it all.
March 31Mar 31 The Seahawks weren't better off without Metcalf. They upgraded at QB and OC. You're comparing a Seahawks offense with Geno Smith who is dreadful and an OC who couldn't get a pro job and had to go back to college to the Seahawks with Darnold and Kubiak. If you put Metcalf on that Seahawks team there's no question their offense would have been better.

If Howie can get their 2027 first with the lack of leverage he has it would be some of his best work to date.

They got better because they upgraded their QB and coordinator not because they got rid of Metcalf.
