Jason Kelce is only nominally more tolerable than Gronk at this point. It’s a shtick and, for me, it’s played out.

The difference between him and Gronk is his fun guy stuff is separate from his football analysis. If you don't want to see Kelce having fun at The Masters or at the tailgate crushing beers, that's very easy to skip. When he's in studio or on set, he's professional. Unlike Gronk where they force his meathead stuff into the football coverage. It's very easy to digest Jason Kelce as a media guy a la carte, you can just watch him as an analyst. With Gronk they'll have him behind a desk one second barely able to mumble his way through analysis, and a second later he'll be spiking footballs and flexing for some stunt.

I don't even think it's shtick with Kelce either, shtick implies forced and inauthentic. From what I understand, Kelce being the dude next door who likes to have a good time is how he is in real life.

Agree.

That absolutely blows because it means more of Rheau Hughes in the morning. I thought for sure Kaney was being groomed to take over for her. Hughes is the worst and doesn't fit with the current morning show as a holdover from that God awful Angelo Cataldi show.

I hated Urea from the get-go - what was it, 30 years ago? Her voice is grating. She sure does have a face for radio, though.

I think the acoustic/crowd noise advantage of a new stadium with a retractable roof exceeds any weather advantage of playing in the elements in the playoffs.

That’s a huge advantage in domes and in Seattle, all of which are loud solely because of acoustics, not the actual fans. If Philly gets a stadium like that, it’ll be a pain in the ass for opposing offenses. The Linc, acoustically, is one of the worst stadiums in the NFL.

Incorrect. That's old info. It's now a loud stadium.

Well they compensate by pumping in sound and by having very loud fans. So the net result is pretty loud…but the acoustics are what they are with all the oblique angles and open sections. The stadium design is a net negative on…let’s call it sound presentation.

I wonder what happened to all of the people who kept insisting all of this stuff about trading AJ Brown was completely made up by the media and WIP.

Snead said the Rams pursued Brown and had "discussions” with the Eagles around a trade for the three-time All-Pro receiver earlier this offseason.

"We chatted with Philly,” Snead said on PFT Live. "Nothing worked out. There were talks. We had discussions. Didn’t work out. That happens.”

Worth pointing out that across sports in general, there is sustained chatter/tire kicking between teams about players moving being traded/sold, but we rarely hear about it IRL. Without the full context, it could have been Hey Howie, a 2 for AJ Brown work? and the reply being No. Need more. Or, something more concreatem like 1 and 3, but we need to trade Adams before doing it..

I am not saying AJ won't go, but he didn't get near being Max Crosby in the house. The largest indicator nothing is truly pending IMO

Well that ESPN article on Hurts and the offense was interesting.

If I take that it would be like betting on your own games. I fully intend to drive it to the over 😂

Patullo and his agent are working overtime lol

It certainly didn't paint Hurts in a positive light - was basically a hit piece. He was by no means perfect last year, but I'd put him at about 3rd or 4th on the list of problems with the offense, behind Patullo's playcalling and O-line play/health for sure.

Well, I’d have him much higher, but that debate is what makes the world go round. Patullo’s playcalling is gone. So 2026 will be the answer key.

As one team source recalled, Hurts was the one who recommended four verts. A separate source with knowledge of the situation says that though the Eagles' quarterback did suggest it, he was simply responding to a question about his preferences.

He has pushed back on changes that would diversify the scheme, sources said, including when it comes to him going under center more. He has shown a reluctance to let it rip at times, particularly against zone coverage. He diverts from the game plan and changes playcalls to what some feel is an excessive degree. His strong preferences, coupled with the coaches' efforts to play to his strengths, which include his deep ball accuracy and throws to the perimeter, limits the breadth to which the offense can expand -- or at least that's the way it has gone in the past.

A source close to Hurts said the QB needs coaches who will "check him," opining that Hurts had "too many 'yes' people around him" this past season.

Kellen Moore, the Eagles' offensive coordinator in 2024, had tried to implement new offensive concepts that Hurts did not always embrace, per multiple team sources. One of the sources said they believed the changes concerned motions and shifts, recalling that Hurts was not receptive to the idea. A third team source said Hurts was willing to experiment with the new wrinkles in 2024, but if they were not paying off immediately, he was quick to pivot and express his discomfort.

Hurts' rigid preferences became an issue again this past season, multiple sources said, citing Patullo's desire to get Hurts under center more often for rushing efficiency and play-action purposes. Playing from under center is something Hurts "continually fights" inside the building, one source said. Hurts doesn't like to "turn his back on the defense" and prefers to process coverages with everything in front of him, the source said.

To be sure, a source close to Hurts hints that he prepared during the offseason for a specific Eagles offense -- the traditional Eagles attack, reliant on the shotgun formation -- only to be asked later to implement more under-center work. Hurts is unafraid to advocate for himself or the offense in those settings, the source added, because players need to get on the same page throughout the offseason. Coaches broached some of the no-huddle concepts during training camp and had to embrace it after the first six weeks of the season, when it became clear the running game was struggling.

He wants a SB more than he cares. I'm guessing they can't use real grass on retractable fields? On top of what you said what are the injury rates for teams that play on turf in those stadiums vs grass?

He definitely wants a third Lombardi. As to a roof, or even a new stadium, that is up in the air. I think they will seriously consider a significant renovation. He mentioned Barcelona. That’s a renovation. Basically torn down to the concrete bowl and rebuilt. Now Barcelona does include adding a roof. But real grass. Building a billion plus stadium that is used for 8-10 football games a year, isn’t feasible so they have to explore other uses of the stadium (concerts, the soccer matches, etc.) Uses where a retractable roof might maximize the value of the asset. The good thing is that Jeffery is a pretty responsible owner. He said a number of times, he wants to maximize the fan experience. I also think he will focus on player amenities and safety. The latter includes grass most likely. And given their track record, I expect the stadium will be sustainable (green).

Bingo. This has Patullo written all over it, especially with the excuses that were leaking out from him after he got fired. Either way as someone mentioned above all questions will be answered in 2026.

Must be a bunch of haters

It's not the first time to be reported that he's not the easiest to work with. Liking things a certain way and open to changes but reverts back if success isn't immediate is something we've known from the beginning

Though I was surprised he was the one to suggest 4 verts

Two immediate thoughts on that Hurts article:

1) If it's true, it's a problem. If not, we have a weasel throwing him under the bus to make themselves look good. Either way, a problem.

2) If he's that resistant to change, if he doesn't play well under this new offense he's not gonna be here in 2027 because he's clearly annoying people in the Eagles building.

He will get Siri fired and still be here. He has 9 lives.

Just once I'd like to see someone with some nuts actually put their name behind stuff like this
