I have that guy on ignore but I remember a stat from the 2023 season that dated back to the start in 2021 or 2022 where Hurts had the longest streak in NFL history for a QB of winning games where the team has fallen behind by double digit points.

They would have already given him the new contract this offseason if they wanted to keep him to gather more cap savings for this year. Howie is not paying Hurts an avg of 60-70 mill which is the rumor Hurts camp is looking for. Hurts is as good as gone. If it wasn't for this current years cap hit, I think he would be going this year.

Howie will have to project the value of 2027 picks (supposedly a stronger draft next year). If Patriots, it's most likely around the mid to late 20's of each round. He may have to give up lower picks to make this all work. This really is all about math in the points value and how you account for 2027 value as well. Both teams expect to be playoff teams, so you have to guesstimate a little.

what do you think about a 2027 first and a third for AJ ? personally I think that's kinda cheap

Best case scenario in my opinion they get a first round pick. I think if they were to get a 1 and another pick it would be a pick swap. Something like a 1 and 3 for Brown and a 5. Or as I mentioned earlier a conditional 2 that can easily become a 1 with games played and then a 3 without giving up another pick. I just don't see Howie making out like Howie usually does since nobody else wants the guy and he has no leverage. Unless there is a deal agreed upon in principle he will lose even more leverage if he drafts a WR in the first or second round.

Personally I think if that was offered he would have been long gone by now. They have no leverage, he is 29, is coming off of a down year, and wants a new contract.

I don't think he will draft WR high. Which is why I've been thinking Boutte comes back in the deal.

I wonder what happened to all of the people who kept insisting all of this stuff about trading AJ Brown was completely made up by the media and WIP.

Snead said the Rams pursued Brown and had "discussions” with the Eagles around a trade for the three-time All-Pro receiver earlier this offseason.

"We chatted with Philly,” Snead said on PFT Live. "Nothing worked out. There were talks. We had discussions. Didn’t work out. That happens.”

I would be surprised if they don't draft a WR by the end of day two and the fact that they have had Omar Cooper Jr. and Chris Bell in for a visits tells me they aren't at all opposed to drafting one in the first or second round. Me personally I have zero interest in Boutte.

How is it being "overblown?" When the GM says "he's on the roster" when asked about the player that should tell you all you need to know.

I know. Im agreeing with you. its the national media that has to have something to talk about. until he's actually traded I think AJ is spending the year here.

I dont see AJ Brown as being on the 2026 roster, as even an option. This resembles Reddick situation. You have an unhappy camper who will probably raise a stink and wants new guaranteed money. Knows he's going to be on the wrong side of 30 soon and looking for the bag. There's no team loyalty or wanting to win involved in this process. It is all business. And he sees the writing on the wall that he's not here in 2027. He's looking ahead. AJ actually has leverage here as he can raise a stink and lower his trade value. And then hijack the season. Like TO. Howie ain't playing that. This is pretty much irreconcilable differences, no matter what they project in public. This situation was easy to read going back a year and a half at least. Going exactly how I thought it would go with AJ. He is gonzo!!

Conversely, if we can trade AJ for a boat load he’ll have maximum leverage to renegotiate a max contract extension with his new team.
