I don't think trading for Wicks impacts their draft plans in the slightest bit. I still fully expect them to draft someone on day 1 or day 2. They are obviously looking to replicate what GB did by having a few good WR's and spreading the ball around with the caveat being Smitty is easily the best WR on either team and will have a bigger role. I'm surprised some people can't seem to get what they are doing, which is the opposite of having two stud number 1's with AJ and Smitty and absolutely nothing else for the last few years.

Thanks for bringing some common sense. The stupid is on full display in here after the Wicks trade. I mean, comparing a WR core with Smitty, Holllywood, Wicks, and probably a high draft pick to what McNabb had, or saying the team won't make the playoffs with WR's like that are some embarrassingly bad takes.

I’d like to point out i actually liked the wicks deal. At the moment it’s our best wr corp in terms of depth we’ve ever had. Have aj brown (for the moment), smith, brown, wicks, moore and cooper.

Well they have 1 less pick and they paid him guaranteed roster spot money so it has to affect their draft plans.

Correct, he also played Detroit and that was the only time we wore those God awful uniforms. (Curtis did do a nice job for us however)

Not sure if that's a typo but Eagles are giving up the 6th in 2027. They aren't getting anything back besides Wicks.

I really don't think a 5th round for a WR3 dart throw changes the calculus much on the WR room personally. For the draft or any a Brown trade. Wicks has some talent but he's not a needle mover when it comes to drafting someone in the first or trading away your WR1.

Smitty, Wicks, Hollywood, draft someone on day two like Chris Bell or Ted Hurst, Cooper and/or Wilson as depth pieces and we are cooking with gas at WR. Anyone who posts on the blog knows I have been overly critical of Howie this off-season but this is a great move and a lot of people are going to be eating major crow when it comes to Wicks. The kid has legit upside.

Having the Brown we saw down the stretch last year is quite another matter than peak AJ. If that is the true player at this stage then trading him and adding the guys we’ve acquired is, at worst, breaking even. I agree that it’s still above average.

Wicks and any rookie they draft at WR are going to be stuck with crap numbers in the 30's or 40's at this rate. I'm pretty sure the only single digit, teens, and 80's numbers currently available are 19 and 85. Someone needs to politely tell Braden Mann to give up 10 and Lurie needs to start letting the team give out 12 again.

I think you have to consider the totality of the moves. If it was just a trade for Wicks I would agree it's doesn't say much. But when they are heavily looking at top WR's in the draft, signing Brown, signing Moore and now trading for Wicks it all points to Brown being out. Otherwise they are spending a lot of their limited assets on WR4/5 which wouldn't make much sense.
