There’s a reason this team backed Nick Foles. There’s a reason they wanted him to lead them.

Think about that.

There are several things at play here, but they seem glaringly obvious to me. First, he's clearly been coddled by the organization. He's been anointed the starter from day one, and despite Foles' s

Yeah I mean I know it is a long season and I know a lot can change but... I can't see them beating the 49ers, Ravens, Seahawks, Saints and Packers. They may beat the Steelers but then I think they split with the Cowboys. It is a lot of ifs, buts and maybes but this is going to be a long hard season and I thought that even before slipping up week one. My estimate is that we aren't going to make the play offs and we will be lucky to win 7 games but I guess we shall see.

You have always been great at these win/loss predictions.  Remember last year?  You nailed that one....or not. Is this another Signature moment for you?

That's a good point but part of his injury history is from his reckless style.  You think Belichick would let him do the things he's doing?  I'd love to know what Doug and the coaches are telling him about his flaws.

We will find put this year.  Cam puts himself in plenty of harmful situations, too.

I said I can't see us beating them. Maybe we do, I'm not predicting we lose all of them. But I have also explained my thoughts on this team and why I think it's a team set for a down year and in need of a rebuild. Happens to all teams at some point.

Think about that.

I've been thinking about it since it happened.

SOMETIMES  we (and this team) are confronted with impossible, no-win or undesirable situations. The Wentz / Foles saga was one of those.

The local sports media called it an 'Embarrassment Of Riches' at one point . . . and it  really  was. Foles coulda shoulda woulda been  'THE MAN'  after his spectacular performances in the NFC Champ game & Super Bowl LII under any and all circumstances . . . except for this one.

Wentz was playing 'lights out' good until his injury and was already being penciled in as league MVP by many in the national sports media up to that point. The olde adage used to be:  "YOU  DON'T  LOSE  YOUR  NFL  JOB  DUE  TO  INJURY!"  I think that had a part in the decision making process. The other part was: Wentz was the 'anointed one'. The one for whom the future had been mortgaged and for whom the skies & seas would be parted for his ultimate coronation as the Eagles 'Franchise QB.' It was a great fairy story until reality took over in 2019. Everyone in the Philly sports media questioned the departure of Foles, as did many TV talking heads and with good reason . . . even then.

But here's the thing: I'm not gonna get all hung up on what didn't happen or coulda shoulda wouldas or any of that. We can't change what happened . . . but by jingies we can control what happens from here on!

Cold, cruel logic dictates the Eagles demeanor in this thing going forward. They need to be fair & critical and do what's best for the team. And if that means Wentz is the back-up until further notice, hey!  He has his $$ millions $$ to keep him warm & cozy. Sometimes a benching can do wonders . . . meanwhile we get to see what our worthless second round QB pick can do.

I'm down with all of that  . . . "Just win, baby!"

I take back what I said....Wentz isn't even a very good QB.

I was thinking, he looks like a decent back-up.

Countdown to 2025.

Maybe he can get good with a new coach, WR, OLine, Defense, RB, and team.

Let's start with him finding a new team. Heard his former OC is in Indy...

It’s not lost on me that this QB’s mobility seems completely lacking than what it used to be.

A 2023 release would be a 19mill cap savings. 15mill in dead money.

2 weeks in a row Wentz screwed us. I'm done with him. DONE!!!!! Until I see him get better. Not holding my breath. When he threw that 1st int, during the pass I thought TD bc he was locked in. 💩💩💩💩👎👎👎👎TRASH!!!!!!! I'M DONE WITH HIM!!!!

Like there were a couple of times I was screaming at the tv...."you mean to tell me you couldnt even run for those two yards??!!"

Hopefully Covid cancels the rest of the season so we don't have to witness the ongoing collapse.

That isn’t new really. I still recall when he was a rookie with a full two minute clock he threw an interception to Slay.

One thing is for sure, you can't blame his performance today on the  WR, OLine, and RB.

Give it time I’m sure someone will find a way to.

Right, that 4th down pass in the fourth quarter I was thinking a fake to Sanders with Wentz bootlegging to the right.

100%!!!!!!!!! Especially on that 4th and 2 to ice the game.

So what's the issue here?

We know Wentz can be really good. Maybe not elite but we know he can be really good.

So is it the play calling? Is it the scheme? The OL? The WRs? Or are we just watching a QB who's regressed to the point where by the end of the year he'll be benched?

I just don't see them going another route. He's on a huge contract so he's going to be the #1.
