A running QB can make up for a lot of deficiencies elsewhere on the team. Let's not get fooled, this team is still trash.

There are several things at play here, but they seem glaringly obvious to me. First, he's clearly been coddled by the organization. He's been anointed the starter from day one, and despite Foles' s

So is the coaching. Hurts has had alot of the same issues as Wentz. Bad throws, recs not getting open with poor route running or bad play design. Doug going away from the run game, etc. The big difference is Hurts takes off faster. Like in college, he reads one route then looks to dumb off or take off with his legs. Thats made it look better for now but like most teams with that style other teams begin to scheme for it.

I think certainly this year he'll handle it better than Wentz. Hurts seems to have real control and composure right now. Probably brought about by less pressure to produce.

Given that his offense has come to life with good QB play? After having horrid QB play the first 11 or so weeks...

Wentz used to have control and composure. He also used to have the highest rating against the blitz at one time. Things change

Something happened to Wentz’s escapability, whether his legs are shot or he is over bulked up that has to be determined. He is mediocre if he cannot extend plays, obviously worse than mediocre

Fixed your post.

Yes, you did.  Can't argue with that.  Both options suck.

You think Doug has done a good job with Carson and offense?  Be serious.

Funny how the offense has produced more with Hurts? Sure Doug may be to blame but that just goes to nail another hammer in to the Wentz coffin.

Probably not a good night to swing that hammer my ole boy.

He still produced more than Wentz has all year. It wasn't a good night for Hurts but Wentz needs to GO.

Hurts is only producing because he can run better then Wentz at this point. His rushing is masking the issues with the offense. They were exposed again today. It's a systematic issue with the entire team. Poor talent, bad contracts, bad coaching, bad play. It's not a QB issue. It's the whole damn organization! Lurie needs to blow it up by firing Howie first or we'll just be spinning our wheels another year or more with him making the decisions.

Uh, no. Wentz has had a few games he led us to more than 17 points. Come on man, you're not making any sense here. You're letting recency bias cloud your judgement.

Produced more what?

Right so he's making more of the rubbish than Wentz is? Trade Wentz, get rid of that freaking awful contract.

Not disagreeing with you but if Howie's going to be making the decisions I doubt it really matters one way or the other.

Jalen’s performance tonight did nothing but cloud any idea to move on from Carson. Hurts laid an egg at the biggest moment of his young career. Maybe he can learn and come back from it, but he did nothing to cement himself as the future with that performance.

I still say its way too soon to determine that in his third start. Granted, it wasn't a good performance but I am sure with better playcalling it would have looked better....

And I still say he looks better than Wentz has all season....but I get your point

My point is he did nothing to convincingly say let’s trade Carson away for this guy. If he played like he did last week in a loss I would feel better about it, but he came up really small in this game. Of course it wasn’t all just him, but he played poorly. There’s no way around it.

The last 2 games, I'd agree. Today, he pretty much was a carbon copy of Wentz this season.

Point taken but what I said doesn't take away from your point. And not making excuses either....he played rather bad today...

Thats actually very accurate.....a carbon copy

No excuses for the kid, but the frustrating part is it just clouds this off-season even more. I’m not saying this proves he can’t play, but it does prevent the Eagles from simply moving on from Wentz. Worst case scenario is both quarterbacks back next season.

I think I would put both QBs on the market this off-season and take the best offer and roll with the other one

They have scored on 2 of 18 second half possessions since he became the starter.

Agreed.....bring in a vet and let them all compete in training camp, is the way I think it should go...

This year is the "worst case scenario." It is possible for the entire team to play better next year regardless of which QB stays or starts.

I'd say either way, TC needs to be an open competition. No one should be handed the job next season.

It's a fair point. I'm not a Wentz guy obviously but I'd like to be proven wrong by seeing him with a different coach at this point. Doug and Howie need to go and Wentz contract is just too big to move on from.

You will certainly get more for Carson, but you will also have to deal with the cap ramifications. Ultimately this team needs a rebuild anyway.
