Is there anything left to talk about now that the Hurts Blog and endless bashing is now suspended? We are talking about BJs and stuff like that?

The fire sale hasnt happened yet. I really dont see them beating any of them teams with atrash bag back up qb and that o-line

The defense is still good enough to keep them in most games. If they trade Riq, Baun, and Ojomo then maybe. Doubt Riq takes a deal to stay, but I'd love it if he did. Would take the CB2 need off the table. Be good insurance in the event Coop keeps going in the wrong direction even though I think that's injuries and a case of the 2009 Hamels offseason.

Probably shifting to draft order. Problem for us is I think they beat the Giants once, Cards, Colts, and either DC or the Cowboys once as well. 6-7 wins will shove them out of the top 10.

Stealth tank mode now. And full fledged after Cowboys game. Think they will be resting guys that could be playing if there was more on the line. That's one way to do it. Like Sixers 2 years ago when they got Edgecombe. Not as obvious, but similar idea. If gutted, this can go 4-13. Easily. Especially if McKee gets hurt or traded. The roster we see today is not what will be in 2-3 weeks. Bring on Majors, Pierce, Mundt, Jenkins and Payton full time. Wow. This bottom of roster is quite terrible.

As I've been stating, the Eagles did it right. The mouthbreathers jumped the gun as per usual.

Right. They will continue the Hurts talk....forever. Like the previous QBs. But should dwindle considerably.

No need to fret, Sirianni Super Fan. If Lurie decides to move on, Nick will get a chance to prove his CEO style of coaching is effective with another team. Just like Doug did. If he makes the playoffs with that team, great. If not, then that might be it for him. Only time will tell, ya know?

Exactly. I said this with Doug at the end too. With Doug, the issue was he couldn’t get a good OC in there and the playcalling and playbook had got pretty stale. Even before Carson wentz went down the drain, they had that issue. Once the talent began to deteriorate, they weren’t able to win at the level that they did prior to that. There was a drop off. They could never get themselves back to close to the mountain top outside of 2018 foles run which took a double doink scoring less than 20 just to get to the divisional round

With Nick you are seeing the passing game over the last four years regress each season. They’ve tried to do the different coordinator every single year. the last two years it really hasn’t looked good. frankly in 2024 it should’ve been a hell of a lot better considering the fact you had an absolutely historic run game with two pro bowl caliber WRs. yet it was still like pulling teeth to get the passing game to be better than a bottom third of the league. i’m not saying it is all on Nick either. There are other issues on this team from a talent standpoint, Howie has made mistakes, Jalen has his flaws and there’s a bunch of other things. But my head coach has to be a guy that can identify a problem and know how to either fixing season or fixing it in the off-season. Which has not happened in the passing game for the better part of three years.

I’ve said this before, Nick is gonna get another chance somewhere else. It’s only a matter of when. Cause he’s won a Super Bowl so somebody will hire him just like Doug. I think he’s gonna have the same fate as Doug. Doug was a good motivator. Very good CEO coach. His best coaching job might’ve been the best coaching job in Eagle history when Carson wins went down that he and Frank Wright were able to get Nick Foles to play at the level they did and go onto win the Super Bowl. Because he never was able to achieve that type of success on offense outside of a couple of games in 2018 when Foles initially took over against the Rams and the Texans. Overall, I think the biggest problem with both of them is if they don’t have a good/great OC that they can work with that they’re gonna struggle unless they have an overwhelming amount of talent. Which I don’t think a lot of teams are gonna be able to give many head coaches, the 2024 talent that the Eagles had.

How much of this do you attribute to Howie and banking on Landon AND Cam to both rise from the dead? You put your eggs in a broken basket and this is what you get.

His negligence + stem cells is what got me to provide myself false relief. I’m not gonna lie, I wasnt nearly concerned as I should have been by the time the season started lol. But I’m a fan, Howie is the GM , he’s in the building with these guys everyday. They suck and he knew it.

The point is that our linemen are doing fine with one on one blocks. The issue is the scheme and them having no idea how to pick up a blitz. That's why it highlights free rushers, not a lineman getting beat.

This isn't about Landon and Cam being injured. It's about Kuper being an idiot.

Huh? I asked you who got suspended cause I don’t know.

Hurts has been a great leader and role model and stand up guy here, he won a sb let’s give him the respect even if we move on after this disaster of a season. He has earned the right.

He's the franchise QB..

Odd to complain about discussion of Hurts

No one. Bashing will be suspended and the Hurts Blog will suffer greatly with nothing to talk about as far as his games are concerned to rip into shreds.

I think he meant the Hurts bashing has suspended, as in on hold for now and moving on to other topics. He didn't mean the mods suspended someone.

Yup. I said this in week one and week two and I got crap for it. But when you watch it, I don’t think Cam Jurgens or Dickerson are ever gonna be what they were prior to SB LIX. However, a big part of the problem with everybody on the offensive line was that they didn’t know who the block and it looked like they were unfamiliar with what the scheme was asking them to do.

do I think Dickerson is gonna be good when he returns? Probably not. But I also think he looked even worse cause it looked like guys don’t know who schematically to pick up and who they’re supposed to be blocking as well as having their deficiencies. Which goes back to coaching at this point in week seven. Because by this point in time, they should have more familiarity with even the guys who are backups. And they’re not. It’s the same thing every week. Which goes to me that your offensive line coach sucks which is why he basically got fired from Minnesota

Was always gonna be somewhat suspended until the off-season since he’s out for the rest of the year now. That’s when it’s gonna be picked up again cause it is his last of his guarantees heading into 2027. So the Eagles have to make a decision. And they have a lot of draft capital. It’s going to give the Eagles and Howie Roseman are a lot of optionality on what they want to do. Imo I’m not so sure Jalen wants to play out 2027 without getting an extension. I really wouldn’t if I was coming back from blood clots. I want my extension now as opposed to having to try to make it through 2027 without getting hurt and then asking for it. I’m not sure the Eagles want to give the extension at the moment.

lol

You mean parting ways with one of the best position coaches in NCAA & NFL history only to replace him with a cast-off from the Vikings was a bad idea?

I mean, both sides are in a tricky situation. Neither the Eagles, nor any other team, is going to offer Jalen a big money extension coming off this medical situation and his play this year. If he did get a deal, it would be for a number he doesn't love (probably not a raise from current levels, maybe a reduction). Also, can anyone get insurance on an extension at this point? So hard to see him and his team getting a multi-year extension they find attractive. From the Eagles side, they can't really move him as this likes makes him borderline untradeable even after 6/1/27, which is the only real way to manage the cap hits (they also aren't going to cut a guy coming off blood clots). While guys coming off injuries are traded historically, hard to see any team giving real assets for a buy who could be the next Chris Bosh and never play again.

I think they find a middle ground - the Eagles fully guarantee 2027, which is meaningless since the ~$50 million option bonus needs to be exercised by week 1 anyway. Jalen's team can say they got further guarantees, and everyone punts to the next offseason.

Mods aren’t suspending anyone lol, there’s still a racist post up in here from almost 48 whole hours ago and multiple replies.

Bright side: you can say racist and it's not changed to boob anymore. 😄

Yup. Especially to your last paragraph. I feel like he was always destined to be back for 2027. The contract was too hard to move even if they wanted to move off of him. Very unlikely teams were gonna trade for him post June 1. Unless they had some sort of agreement in place but even then your quarterback is missing some of your off-season activities doesn’t seem like a good idea.

To me I’ve been saying, Nick and Jalen both might not be here by 2028. I think Nick is more coaching for his job for 2027 right now. Whereas Jalen hurts is probably playing for his extension in 2027. And frankly, his extension might not come if the Eagles decide, they’re picking high enough and draft a quarterback this year. listening to Daniel Jeremiah talk, if the Eagles are in position to take somebody like Chambliss, I would not be surprised if they took them. I could see them viewing him in the same way they viewed hurts especially after hearing Jeremiah gush over him
