Just because big guys like Wemby take and miss too many unnecessary 3's doesn't mean Shaq would be unplayable. Any smart coach will rotate or let those guys take those 3's and miss, and then Shaq will get whatever he wants in the paint. Jacking up 3's is exactly what cost the Spurs a championship. Not to mention, Wemby needs a lot of work in the post. it's like watching a guy that has all the tools, yet little to no skill. He looks awkward as hell down in the paint when he tries to score.

I just don't see it. Players are supposedly more athletic now, yet they need load management. Traveling is allowed. You can't touch players at all now defensively. Everyone flops. A big guy like Zion can't even stay healthy or maintain his weight so that he can try to be great. Today's game is really just teams running back and forth and throwing up 3's. There's nothing advanced about that. I don't think players during MJ's era are bitter about today's league/players.

I’m fully aware my opinion is unpopular btw so don’t think I’m saying you’re the weird one 🤣

Can we please not do the LeBron/MJ debate in here?

Disagree. That is the fan point of view. Eagles look for bright minds that are on their upward trajectory. They interview across experience, but their preferences are obvious. Over the past 25 years it has been a successful strategy.

And let's be honest rather than reactionary: we've been good to excellent for the past decade because our offensive line has been good to excellent during that time, with a few seasons of being the leagues best offensive line. The past two seasons we have seen what an offense looks like with bottom of the league Offensive lines. It ain't pretty. Eagles draft and FA priority over the next two off seasons has to be rebuilding the line.

Just to hammer this home and make us feel better, the last time the Cowboys were contenders was when they had the league's best offensive line in the mid 90s. They won 3 SB with QB with a career 61% completion percentage and only 24 more career TDs than career INTs across 12 seasons. Math: he only averaged only 2 more TDs vs. INTs a season during his career. When the oline was at its best he had his best seasons, when the oline wasn't the best he never had a completion % in the 60s. And one more stat: during their SB run he only had one season with 20+ TDs.

If it wasn’t the coach’s point of view, they’d have an OC with experience.

Being good for the last decade doesn’t mean anything about the current personnel situation. Coaches can see the personnel had been teetering on the brink and has now gone over it.

There isn’t a debate.

it's not really unpopular because a lot of younger NBA fans think this way (I'm not assuming your age as you could be older, I'm just stating my observation). Many fans that think this way never saw games/great players from that era of the NBA, and they'll point to the edited clips of players missing and taking bad shots, and think that's how the talent was. It's just as disingenuous as someone posting an edit of today's players bricking countless 3's and traveling.

I've always believed that there really isn't much difference in regard to the talent and athleticism of MJ's era and today's. The only real difference is in how today's game is played, and imo it is inferior to the 90's era.

I always suggest people go watch a complete game on YouTube from the 90s to remind them of what it really looked like. Not a 20 second clip of dudes fighting. There was no MMA defense. Mostly just slow skinny weak dudes that couldn’t shoot. The lanes are wide open and they must have hid the super physical stuff somewhere in a vault. You couldn’t play most zones against MJ because it was illegal which makes a huge difference. Bill Lambeer was the same size as Kevin Durant. Playing "enforcer” at center.

It’s like when you say something is your favorite movie and you go back and watch it after 30 years and you’re like… dang… that was way worse than I remember it.

(For a bonus go watch an 80s game. Looks like the YMCA by your house.)

Pistons vs Bulls in 89. Good talk

Apparently the answer to your question is no.

There is no debate. Bill Russell is the GOAT, and MJ is #2.

Don't know what you were watching, that is not even close to the truth. This dude would still intimidate any current NBA player.

I think you missed the original post. I wasn't talking about luxury. I said that they arent confined to a little coach seat with no leg room.

Someone else brought up their dissatisfaction with team flights. And I showed evidence of the space they have to move around.

I'm sure there are also treatments happening in flight as well. No one is just sitting for 8 hours.

I saw the picture, saw the grade, and made my comment. I stand by it.

I agree especially when the debate is really Wilt Chamberlain vs. Bill Russell.

I'll answer your question when Im finished with the LeBron/MJ debate that's going on in here.

Greenard and all time bad move considering the draft assets given up for him and then the contract on top of it.

I think when Andy was the coach that is accurate regarding choice of coordinator hiring. With Pederson and Sirianni, not so much.

But the national media thinks Jalen is going to sue the Eagles...

One of the things that seems so odd about this situation, though, is the extent to which Hurts' agent and the Eagles are aligned on the messaging. If Hurts and/or his representation felt the Eagles had been negligent, one imagines they would be raising hell at least behind the scenes. Instead, the agent signed off on a joint statement with the team Monday about Hurts' care and his health. We haven't heard from Hurts himself since that statement, but it's no stretch to assume the agent's stance reflects Hurts' own feelings about the situation.

People want some type of conspiracy to happen so bad. Some because they hate the Eagles and others because they're addicted to drama. Nothing ever is what it appears to be, there must be some other angle.

In other news, I think Goodell had Epstein killed.

I've said it before and will say it again. Siri is gone at the end of the year. They won't fire him with a game to go like with Chipper as Siri has been a good soldier. The fan base would revolt if Siri is brought back another year. Just like it was obvious A.J was gone midway into last year. Sometimes you can just tell.

I'm really glad we're such a marquee organization that the most reactionary fanbase in the NFL is making our decisions. That'll certainly help our future.

Well if that happens, hope Vic doesn't decide he's done with the Eagles/retires, because if he does, the fanbase will have a lot more to revolt about coming soon.

He's a Sixer. The King wins! If he brings us 1 championship. 😉
