Is it possible that both are true, that the team followed proper procedure, and that if Hurts had stayed home from London he wouldn’t have DVT?

In all seriousness, this is a situation the Eagles are kinda making themselves look incompetent and should come out with full transparency besides a twitter statement. There’s no competitive advantage to be had at this point and if they had Howie or a team DR fully layout the timeline, the decision making and the process it would clear up a lot of speculation. With the NFL and Dr. Sills coming out today in support of the Eagles I can’t imagine there’s enough liability to at least tell their side of the story.

I agree with that 100%... But, at the same time, what are the HIPAA regulations on this. To me, this goes beyond football. Jalen doesn't need to, or shouldn't have to have all his health information out there for the entire world to know.

Thr timing is odd though. They knew of Hurts having the calf discomfort a day before they went to London. If they thought it was even a possibility that they decided to do the ultrasound "out of an abundance of caution" once they got to London then why not just do that before traveling to London? Eliminate all that air travel with a blood clot. A true abundance of caution.

And then when they found it they should have then searched the rest od his body instead of just the calf, out of an abundance of caution.

NFLPA seems like a joke and just doing this for optics

It’s impossible to know how the clot moved to his lungs. People can speculate but it can be caused by anything. Plenty of people get them and it moves to their lungs without going on planes. My guess and it’s just a guess is it would’ve happened regardless. People really are overrating this plane thing. It’s not ideal for people with clots but it’s not some direct cause or anything. It’s just not recommended because if the time you’re not moving, but on the way home they said he moved around.

Tale as old as time… Sixers need a better backup center

Further investigation shows they still had to use foreign doctors that I believe the NFL recommended. Glad we cleared that up.

What are the Eagles covering up? Everything seems fine but people want more drama.

The chess match here is really interesting if you put yourself in Hurts shoes. Now, you all know I think Hurts was a major fault line and problem in this offense. But we also all know he’s not the only problem.

From Hurts’ vantage point: you’ve got collapsing offensive personnel, poor offensive coaches, and objective results that are getting worse year-over-year. And this is the vehicle that you have to drive to your next contract with 1 guaranteed year left. He has to see the writing on the wall that his contract is on the precipice of getting cut short and that an equivalent payday is not coming.

And the leverage that he could not find on the field with improved performance has now fallen into his lap with the most unexpected turn of events.

It always comes down to money. How they handle his contract could impact how he proceeds with or without a lawsuit which could impact how they handle his contract.

Unless we found out the Eagles lied and Hurts played that game already on blood thinners then I really don’t see what bad thing they could be hiding. Everything as reported followed medical procedure.

As I said last week, Jalen Hurts will soon be part owner with Julian when this is all said and done.

Say you are desperate for attention without saying you are desperate for attention.

Everything im seeing, reading and hearing is that the eagles followed the procedure and medical opinions. The only problem i see is a doctor issue not a team issue. even with that, if anything wasnt screwy wouldnt we have heard something from jalen's camp? This just seems like a nothing burger.

1941 what a year!

I can't imagine the NFLPA taking this stance if Hurts hadn't expressed a desire to from them.

Based on what? The Eagles and his agent put out a joint statement.

As far as liability the NFL gave them doctors to see. Unless you have proof otherwise they followed the advice including getting scans back in the US.

It would be good to get a good look at Julian as an owner.

If the Sixers could hit an open 3 they’d be up by 30

Everyone pictures these players flying coach. Instead they have big cubicles where they can sit, lay, or they can get up and walk. They werent confined to their cramped seat with no leg room for 9 hours.

I also think a lot of people are conflating 2 stories. A true story, and a fiction story.

Fact- people know you can develop clots on a plane.

Because of that, people automatically assume the plan makes clots worse. Thats the assumption which very well may be fiction.

Also, most people dont know why you make clots on a plan. It begins with blood pooling because you are sedentary for a long period. But it typically happens in people with pre-existing conditions that predispose them to clot more easily. A young perosn with a healthy heart isnt likely to develop clots from a long plane ride. What really adds to the perfect storm then, is commonly people drink alcohol on a long plane ride, which is a diuretic.

Another thing, Id be shocked if Hurts had seen trainers for pain and tightness with a hematoma in his calf, and was not using "recovery boots" on the flight, which are intermittent compression devices. There is also a new modality out there called the firefly. Its only 20 dollars and lasts 30 hours. Its almost like TENS but instead of stimulating muscle, it stimulates the peroneal nerve and increases circulation in the entire body because of the muscle pump action in your lower leg. I would feel very comfortable betting that the eagles have those modalities on the plane for players to use. ESPECIALLY someone dealing with what Hurts was already dealing with.

There is so much people dont know but the assumptions are flying like crazy.

Probably also be ahead if we had a competent backup center so Drummond doesn’t go off
