The one thing about Howie. He tries to recorrect on the fly when he identifies his mistakes. And does so pretty decisively. He has shown if he has to eat cap he will. Painful in the short term. But at the EOD he is looking at who meets the superbowl caliber standard here going forward. Lot of just okay talent we have here. Need a major influx of premium talent in here to replace all the gems we have lost the last 2 years. (And the ones we are most likely about to lose). Nothing near that quality right now on this roster. And alot of the guys who we thought were great never took that next step. So do you stay saddled with all this amazing potential that I hear about, that really isn't producing or make drastic changes?

I don't know who is making these calls, but it's not a good look to say the least. He should have had his helmet taken from him on Monday and he should be done for at least the next month.

For a strong offer? I'd dump him in a heartbeat. Injury prone and doesn't really seem to GAF.

Looks like peeps are ready to move on. There's only so much time you are gonna wait for someone. Here are the facts, the last year in a half he's been not good enough. And what gets me, that doesn't talked about at all. He does not stop the run. The gaudy stats are one thing but that's another. And here are the excuses I hear: injuries, being held, doesn't have anyone near him, etc. When you are great as he is paid to be, I will should see your face on my TV screen repeatedly making plays. Essentially, getting paid to be the top DT in the game with a $40M contract, the stakes have now changed as well as the expectations of him as a leader. And playing nowhere near that level. Yeah I agree with this interview. 💯

Injury prone based on what? The guy broke his hand and still played through it. What is going on around here?

Patience is not a virtue for Philly fans. The guy has been playing with one arm.

I do think we have been pretty patient. How much more rope do you give him? I think it's Howie's fault. Not his. I would have taken that bag too. I do agree he's playing injured and that goes into why I want to move on here as well. 2 years in a row that he's been injured. Is this wrist problem chronic? Heard about that last year. Needed PRP treatments in both shoulders at age 24, instead of having invasive shoulder surgeries. These are all red flags for me. Why are we paying this guy that much? Has had 1 great year. Would have made him prove he's even healthy before giving him a bag like that. Carter and his agent played Howie here and had a hold-in as leverage. I would have been more firm here. And take a near Parsons package, if he starts whining about contracts.

And the two surgically repaired shoulders last season. Pretty significant injuries two seasons in a row

The guy is 25 years old. He's playing with one arm and the entire team has looked bad. Just like my defense of Hurts why the heck are we focusing on Carter? What draft picks does anyone think will be worth it? Especially, considering on one hand people say Howie has drafted like crap, which is fair, so trade known commodities for more picks to try and replace the talented guy you just moved? Off year or not he's still one of the best at his position and is 25. Someone better be offering three firsts+

I'm afraid this is who he is going forward. No improvements in his game. And a lot of excuses. He could be damaged goods at this point like LD and CJ (both about 25/26 when they first broke down) who never get back to that peak. Also hate his professionalism and attitude. That's an entirely different story. If we are being real, he doesn't fetch Simmons' price based on production and injury/mental state. I want a day 1 and day 2 pick and then call it a day. And start this rebuild. This is a phony roster you have right here. Fool's gold. Need help everywhere.

Nobody is trading for Davis with that contract.

Howie and the Eagles are stuck with that albatross.

Carter isn't going anywhere. He gets mauled/held because nobody else on that DL is worthy of attention. Get even some semi-competent help at EDGE and that could be a game changer.

Smith/Hunt/Greenard in no particular order have been a massive letdown in 26. Not re-signing the first two and would look to unload the latter if that is even possible.

Maybe he does just go downhill. You could be right, but two late first round picks doesn't do it for me. This feels like Hurts which I know you are on the other side of. They have so many issues that Carter isn't on the radar for me. I'm way more optimistic about things after getting a new coach vs getting a bunch of picks and starting over.

Carter next to a top 10 pick at edge would be something to look forward to

This is the problem those 2 first round picks that we probably could have gotten this offseason become less and less likely and possible if there's any kind of flare up here. Whether he gets hurt again (which has to be a serious concern at this point), goes crazy on the sidelines 🤣 and or just doesn't put up the stats expected here. Which I will admit he does not have enough around him. But Ojomo isn't chopped liver. He actually gets double teamed more than Carter. The edge position does need work. I'm not saying he's not a really good player. He's not worth $40M and there is that risk factor of this huge contract being a total disability for the franchise going forward. There is a ton of risk here keeping him in the long term. Maybe just resetting and getting young here and keeping Ojomo makes the most sense long term. More bang for the buck.

Facts.

Simmons or Stewart would look nice in Eagles green.

I know WR, QB, or OT are tempting though if they are drafting 4-8.

Arguments can be had for Smith or Mestemaker.

Admittedly don't know who the Top OTs are in this draft. But realistically the Eagles need OGs more anyways. And those gems can be found in R2 or R3.

Says a lot about him as a person to understand its not forever but I do cringe when I see him pushing it too far. But you can't say he's a faker/shirker, unlike other players in the past. No eating lunch in his car

Wow. No game designation for Barkley, so he's definitely playing
