Friday at 07:59 PM4 days Carter is either injury prone or not remotely special. Gotta pick one. Either he’s a special player and 2 consecutive injury plagued seasons prevented him from being that…or he’s not injury prone and he’s just not that great.
Friday at 08:02 PM4 days The "he needs superior players around him to be better" is a lame argument. Especially for guys who are paid at the top of the market. You can't surround everyone with amazing talent in a salary cap league. Dexter Lawrence stood out on terrible Giants defensive teams. So did Jeffery Simmons. So did Aaron Donald. The whole point of being a "generational talent, one of the best in the league" is to raise the play of others. Not need others to raise your play.

The question is why he hasn't returned to that level. I do think Vic is playing him too much. I don't know if injury prone is the right definition but the shoulder last season and the wrist this season have impacted his performance. I also think his effort has varied and his technique needs to improve.

Whether he gets hurt again (which has to be a serious concern at this point), goes crazy on the sidelines 🤣 and or just doesn't put up the stats expected here. Which I will admit he does not have enough around him. But Ojomo isn't chopped liver. He actually gets double teamed more than Carter. The edge position does need work. I'm not saying he's not a really good player. He's not worth $40M and there is that risk factor of this huge contract being a total disability for the franchise going forward. There is a ton of risk here keeping him in the long term. Maybe just resetting and getting young here and keeping Ojomo makes the most sense long term. More bang for the buck.I wouldn't have signed Davis, but both are here for a few years. I disagree on the double teamed, but I would have kept Ojomo over Davis. Howie made his choice. All the other things aside how good would Carter look if he wasn't held 90%+ of the time? Trading him isn't worth thinking about. If nothing else it's not happening for cap reasons.
Friday at 08:12 PM4 days Campbell not playing so we get an entire game look for Trotter. I'm usually a pessimist but the Skins stink. Eagles 24-17. Defense looks much better and plays with effort. There are ten games left. They can't just mail it in this early.

They are going by rate on that stat as obviously they have different snap counts. I am gonna have to look that up again. The problem is if they are not gonna call the Carter holds we don't benefit anyway. They just might have a target on that guy for his past behavior.

Friday at 08:22 PM4 days Was that Hugh Douglas on the WIP pic in the thread?? He looks homeless and like he belongs on Kensington. He must rent out one of the duplex cardboard box homes there, yeesh. I vaguely recall him saying that he didn't have a winter coat last year. Instead has a couple of hoodies and a tent for shelter. Probably drives a $60,000.00 SUV though.
Friday at 08:30 PM4 days If Barkley can't make it through the game, everyone on the training staff should be fired.

Fracturing a wrist is a fluke thing and not preventable unless you are made of vibranium. DG is injury prone.

Trade Davis & Carter for 2027 picks. Got a young rebuilt defense next year. Attack DL and OL this year and next year in early rounds and we are back on our way. I have a serious problem with JD signing a huge contract and then coming back out of shape. Fooled Howie for that 1 offseason. Now he's back to being himself. With Carter I worry about his injury concerns and attitude. He also fooled Howie this offfseason where we saw videos of him working out relentlessly and touring Philadelphia and being a man of the people. In the meantime, he just FU'd these same fans in the last week. You know, the guys who pay his check. By now, I think we know who he is. He ain't changing. And is a poor choice for a captain or leader on the team going forward. Not waiting to find out what's next here. Davis and Carter seem to be both lazy and soft. No team should be able to run against these two, but they look disinterested in that phase. At least be dominant there, if not in the passing game. That's an effort thing. And only show up when they feel like it. I look at them as a package deal. Either both in or both out. I'm looking for that killer instinct here. Don't see it. They are just happy being in the NFL and have no interest in being great. We are right up to the cap and have other dead money to cover. We are stuck with both for another year or two
