Is JSN the 2nd best WR in the league?

I thought the first half we were good. If it wasn’t for the interception we would’ve looked at that first half as great even with the oline issues. second half though was bad. Outside of that final two minute drive, the Eagles were pretty bad that entire half. they had good field position on some of those drives and managed to only get a field goal out of it.

If not for the interception, its likely 17-3 at half time.

You, sir, set a high bar!

Lol.

I like the general flow of his play calling. Not a bad result today with an - at best - inconsistent OL.

Just saying he might actually be the best. Like he might be quarterback proof. Because Drew Lock is not exactly great and yet he’s still able to do what he does. Even Chase when Joe Burrow was out was not nearly as dominant.

There’s definitely a couple of positives to take. Jalen was mostly very good, Smitty was clutch and Wicks is a really nice piece on this offense.

Is he not the best?

2nd INT is on Jurgens. But Simmons is gonna make plays.

That’s why I was saying the offense was good in the first half. Everything except that interception they did well. It was the second half where there was problems. Saleh made adjustments but really felt like the eagles continuously shot themselves in the foot as well and we eventually got back to peppering wicks and smith

What’s painful about that is, for years we were so good at it with Andy. Now every time we run the screen it feels like it’s doomed.

Complete waste of a down.

Yup. The other thing I didn’t like was like they got wicks involved early in that game. And he looked good. And then for whatever reason we didn’t see him again until like midway through the fourth quarter. Right now your best receiving threats are Smith and wicks. We need to find more ways to get both of them the ball because I think both of them are very capable of carrying this pass offense until we can get the run game going. And then everybody can get up to speed with the offense and the blocking scheme.

An observation and not a criticism, but that is very much Hurts as a pro QB. Skill players at times just disappear from the stat sheet

Hopefully Hurts can take away the lesson from today's game that INTs are survivable. Keep pushing it down field in the intermediate areas. The offense is awesome if that is part of it.

Imagine if he actually continued playing well in the 3rd and all but the last drive of the 4th quarter. We could have scored 40+.

Those 2 INTs wouldnt even be a blip on our radar.

Hurts was damn good again today. Had the one horrible pick, the 2nd one was on Jurgens imo. Had a 2 or so instances of the ol’ bailing on the pockets and jogging out of bounds stuff that has plagued him over his career. Otherwise, played under control and made plays despite a bad OL and a defense letting him down.

The cowboys opening drive confirmed to me WAS defense is still bad

The eagles offense is a defensive steroid.

I know people will probably lose it, but, Barkley sucked the air out of the offense.

Except that's not really backed up with how the drives stalled. He only had like 4 carries and had minimal impact on this game.

4 drives in the 2nd half before the game winner:

  • 1st: 3 and out. Penalty, Pass, Penalty, Pass, Sack.

  • 2nd: FG. Drive stalled on 3 straight incompletes

  • 3rd: 3 and out. Pass, Incomplete, Incomplete

  • 4th: Interception. Drive stalled out on Tank run, dumb Lemon playcall, Hurts misfire to an open Smith

The run defense has been an issue and it’s probably a Fangio D deficiency. Still need to figure it out and it all starts with better tackling. Tackling is also a problem when they get pressure, as they often fail to bring the Qb down.

It was early last year as well. Pugging Nakobe back in is what made it improve

DeVonta was really two plays away from having a career day. The insane catch that was out of bounds and Hurts undershooting him on the INT.

Commanders about to get dog walked by Dallas

Keep in mind Chicago ran all over this defense last time we played them.

But we didn't have carter so that will be the matchup especially if Caleb doesn't play.

We’re all going to have to get comfortable with this and talked about it in here before the season. Him throwing more INTs this year isn’t the end of the world if it leads to more aggressive and big plays. Ideally you don’t want them in the red zone, but it’s getting him away from playing too conservative.

I don’t know what he was looking at

Biggest LT issue for the season based on early games is going to the OL.

We were hopeful that last year would end up being a one off injury driven and our guys would get back to 2024 levels with some off-season rest but that doesn't appear to be the case

Either he made a really poor decision and read. Or Bateman didn’t do the route he thought he was doing.

No idea who the backup QB is, but they only had to hand it off versus us last year.

Devonta went the hell off. Great job today.
