I’ll be turning 60 years old in just over a month and my sister sent a family text a few days ago asking if anyone knew if our childhood home was still standing. I’ve thought about going back to see i

Wicks has been wayyy better than expected, especially after his first couple of drives in week 1 where he dropped a hospital ball and then missed a block leading to Lemon getting blown up in the backfield against the Redskins. Complete turnaround from that moment from him.

Really early in the season (and this game), but man the Jaguars look like the best team right now in the AFC. That offense looks tough to defend given all their passing weapons and innovative. Trevor Lawrence finally living up to what people thought he could be.

With Goedert banged up I wonder if they finally bring Ertz in this week

Howie really mismanaged tight end this offseason. What a mess. Mundt has been rough. We know Calcaterra can’t play. Stowers is probably on IR with a phantom injury and can’t play even if he was healthy.

I’d argue safety position isn’t far behind either. neither Epps nor Carter are long term starters and neither may hold up at the position for 17 games plus playoffs.

Is coaching holding Hurts back? He's just so dam clutch.

Cousins out here taking it to the chargers

My overall takeaway is happy with the win, but not great that with what could be the two worst teams they play all season they had to scratch and claw just to survive. The NFL is weird so they could win the next two games comfortably, but I can't say I'm feeling great about the team because I'm not. I will feel better if/when the OL ever gets straightened out. Maybe that's where Howie pursues a deadline trade.

The intangibles have always been one of his best attributes. His flaws are elsewhere

Glad Wicks is here for a bit. He and Smith are a great duo. Lemon will get his, too. Only a matter of time. Cooper gets open, too.

Good WR room

League screwed Washington. They open the season with two straight road games against division opponents?

No idea who the backup QB is, but they only had to hand it off versus us last year.

COMPLETELY different if you have zero worry about the passing game. Their backup isn't very good and Caleb looks like he could be out for several weeks.

We might have gotten lucky avoiding Mike McDaniel

Bagnet isn’t it? He’s spikey and spunky. He’s not the kind of back up QB you’d want to face on a one week type game.

Wicks might be a real find and they gave up next to nothing for him. He is legit.

Cam Ward isn’t very good, and the TEN run game looked competent behind meh OL.

Good WR room

The four biggest concerns with this team for me right now

  1. Offensive line has to be better. I get going up against Jeffrey Simmons is a tough task. And I also think the Titans line is actually good. But they gotta be better. I still think some of this is they’re learning a new blocking scheme along with a new offense so it’s good to take them time. Even Lane Johnson didn’t look great today.

  2. The tight end position is a mess right now. Dallas goedert is hurt which is not unexpected. That’s been his career. And you really don’t have anything behind him that’s competent enough. Short term an issue and long term of stowers doesn’t develop.

  3. I worry about the Campbell. I didn’t expect him to be Dean right away. Cause he hasn’t had enough reps. And he is not the player in run defense that Dean became. But man, he’s really struggling in run defense and his pass defense isn’t great either. They need him to play better. I’m hoping as the season goes on he gets better.

  4. The safety position to me is very questionable. Makuba has shown at times he could be a really good safety. Others times last year that he was a rookie. He hasn’t had a lot of time because he missed half the season. I think he’ll be fine if he stays healthy. I think Epps or Carter are solid backups that can give you some quality play for a couple weeks. More then play the more i think they begin to show their limitations.
