He seemed to handle himself well for his first NFL start against a very good D-Line, hopefully he will just get better with more playing time.

57 on the PFF scale for Mailata. Keep going. Peters is on IR so Mailata will even get a chance to fail against better DEs.

I don't care if Peters comes back "healthy."  Keep starting Mailata to get more experience and see what you've got.  It would be incredible if he were to cement the LT spot, what a story for his NFL journey.

Mialata did really well. Just watched the film breakdown.  I don't get the team's reluctance to put him in. For his first game, it went about as well as we could've hoped.   I think the talent evaluation is suspect in places with the coaches, especially at linebacker and OL. They were also reluctant about putting Pryor at guard, but he did well except for the false start.

They should of done that with Dillard last year. Then we wouldn't of went into this year guessing if he was going to be able to handle starting.

Jordan is 23 man. Still extremely young. Are you saying you think Herbig is a RG? I'm not as big on him as you. Back to Jordan...

Yeah, I don't think he got lazy, but not something to argue over as that's just subjective.

I see a guy that is new to football and thinking. I said above and I'll say again, if anyone that played football started late or remembers the guy on their team that started really late it is all about playing time. Coaching my daughter's basketball team I can teach them how to shoot the lights out of the gym, dribble properly, pass the ball, set picks and run a few plays, but the second they get in a game against just one girl on the other team who has been playing against her big brothers since she was 4 years old ... that girl puts up 20 pounds in a 22-10 game.

I remember football being very, very similar, especially in the run game. Get out in space and have zero clue what to do. He looked lost at times and it was all in space. Not doing anything. Needs to just put a hat on someone. We used to just scream at the new guys to hit anyone. When I was new they used to just make me hit anyone. If I didn't, I ran an extra mile after practice. Not sure you do that to an NFL player though. 😂

Either way, his pass pro was without a doubt both a positive game and better than Jason Peters, god rest his soul. Running game? Not so good. I mean, he blocks better than Zach Ertz...

I never played football, however thanks for the insight from your experiences... I liked the Ertz comment 😂.... Good future ahead for Jordan, if he becomes a better version of BIG V, I would be happy.

He is quite athletic considering he is the biggest human being on the Eagles roster, I believe he ran a faster 40 than Carson lol...

We need to give him a tackle eligible pass so he can have more catches than JJAW.😶

we still don’t know 100% what Dillard is.

Yeah we do, he's a 1st round pick that doesn't play like one.

Glad he got to play finally.

Not really fair to say. He played pretty well at LT when he had a chance last season. Then the coaches for some stupid reason decided it was a good idea to start him at RT for a game, despite never playing there before.

Also, I don't get why we are trying to convert a WR to a TE during a season. That is something you do in camp. It takes months to do it.  There have been some questionable moves/decisions the past couple of years with personnel.

Good start for Mailata.  Keep him at LT and see if he could perform in the next few games.  If he does, keep Peters as back-up for the season.  The new OGs are playing well also.  No need to insert Peters there either.  The OT money he can keep as a retirement gift.

Play the young guys and you may just find some good players.  The coaches have to learn to trust the young ones and not rely on aging and regressing vets.

Absolutely. I'd very much enjoy seeing JP as the back up to Mailata. Hope it would chip away at him for the season.

On another note, how good could Mailata be? I mean the guy could be a really good LT as he gains more experience. Big big test this week though.

Agreed this is starting to remind me of Gruden towards the end of his tenure with the Bucs, he refused to groom the younger guys. He would just keep on relying on aging vets that didn't have it anymore because he didn't have the patience to work with young players. I don't think that is the main thing that is happening here but, on some parts of the roster that seems to be the case

When I was in high school I was a wide receiver / defensive back (very small school -- football team couldn't afford to cut anyone who could stand on his own two legs) and we had this guy on the line who'd never played football. He was a big guy, too nice for football, but he could move really well for his size, and I kept telling him to hit people. One time he was like, "but the guy scored a touchdown already," and I told him, "I don't care if he scored a touchdown and then went out of bounds, hit him!"

Well, sure enough, about two weeks later we were on opposite sides of a bit of scrimmage, and I scored a touchdown and pulled up and this guy ran over me from behind. I got up and threw the ball at him and yelled at him that I'd scored a touchdown and was out of bounds, and he was like, "That's what you said!" I had to give it to him. I was like, "Yeah, alright. Do that to somebody else though."

😂

I was that kid basically.

They stressed "hit to the whistle" and "if anyone is standing next to the pile, kill them". I took that literally. First game, the opening kickoff goes all the way to the right side of the field and I'm all the way left. Tackle is already made, but no whistle, so I full speed ear hole a kid on the other team standing around the pile. He's out. Just out. Asleep. 15 yards. Ref looks at me like I killed someone. My coach is absolutely flipping out at me.

I have no idea what I've done wrong. I have followed directions. "Hit to the whistle, if anyone is standing next to the pile, kill them."

Confusing sport for a while.

Yes. Enormous Tool fan. This was my original pick for the old boards, but it wouldn't allow it 17 years ago. Then I couldn't do FortySix&2 either. So, I picked my old name which I hated within a few years.

Meh.

Funny story, I saw them in Philly last year, and my buddy asked me to predict songs they would play. I called Stinkfist as more of a personal wish than a confident prediction. I figured it was a little too obscure/dated to actually make it on the setlist. Much to my pleasant surprise, they played it during the encore. Blew my mind, haha.

Yeah, we don't pay Ertz for his blocking, but he has worked at it. Dallas is a much, much, much better blocker. Ertz' ability to read a defense is insane though.

Physically and athletically, Jordan has the ability to go way past V.

I do not think Jason Peters is as injured as he is being made out to be. I think this is a nice way out for him, and he deserves that. HOF player.

Reps, reps, reps, reps for Jordan. How do you handle great pass rushers? Now, how do you handle it when you get beat? Are you Winston Justice in the head or can you come back from it?

(I thoroughly apologize for bringing up Winston Justice, especially close to lunch.)

I could be wrong, but I think that's their encore at every concert lately. Think it's the one song you can take your camera out for? I could be wrong. Good call though.

Might be, but I think it was the first time they did it on the tour. My friend had been looking at the setlists leading up to the show, and I don't remember that being played at that time.

I agree, he did as well as you could expect a 7th round rugby player that never played college ball possibly could.  If he continues to play well, I seriously hope they don't bench him and throw Dillard or especially Peters back in there.

I think given where he's come from he really exceeded expectations. He was good overall to be fair.
