Suicide rate is due to lack of acceptance. There is still a lot of hatred towards people that express themselves in a manner that is deemed unacceptable by the "superior." For some reason, people take it personally when they see a biological man wearing makeup. Maybe take it easy on people that are different. Don't be frightened. Let them be who they are comfortable being. There is one major drawback - it could lead to greater happiness on both sides.

The suicide rate amongst military vets is extremely high as well. I guess they don't want them near children either.

Probably not a good idea to have vets with severe PTSD teaching kids.  You are correct.

If they want to change the law and have mental health screenings as part of the hiring process for teachers, knock yourselves out. However, if mentally ill people aren't able to work as teachers, then they sure as hell shouldn't be able to buy guns.
