That actually makes sense to me now… it confirms that you’re a fool and the stupid still burns but now I understand why so many people still watch Fox News. You guys are twisting yourself in knots and youre not even making sense. Where did I say I prefer to be lied to? But Im glad you admit that the "honest truth" that the DNC will never actually admit, is that they couldn't give a flying F about the budget and only use taxpayer dollars to buy votes. Good job saying the quiet part out loud. Then you throw in a random Fox News jab like a good little lunatic. I barely watch TV period.

July 19, 20232 yr So to recap: Mike hates social programs, but the Republican nominee isn't going to do anything about them. And Mike hates federal spending, but the Republican nominee is only going to increase spending. And Mike's going to vote Republican because they tell him they care about spending. But he's not going to vote for Trump even though he's definitely going to be the nominee. It all makes perfect sense, Mike.

But really take a step back and tell me why anything you just said would make me even consider voting for a Democrat president. The Democrats will make the social programs much worse. The Democrats will make federal spending much worse. The Democrats wont even pretend to care about reducing spending. I dont know why youre lashing out at me for simply picking the best of two bad choices, which is something literally all of us do. Its not my fault your party went insane.

I hope one of them will have the balls to do something about it. I think Tim Scott and Ron Desantis are the big entitlement reform candidates. Taking away something that people have been paying into their entire lives doesn't seem like a winning issue to me. Im ok with clipping them, but the government better give me back my money.

Uh...bro? https://www.npr.org/2016/03/12/470130961/fact-check-republican-candidates-on-keeping-or-changing-social-security Quote Dana Bash, CNN: "According to the Social Security Administration, unless adjustments are made, Social Security is projected to run out of money within 20 years." Marco Rubio: "Anyone who tells you Social Security can stay the way it is is lying. Any politician that goes around saying, 'We don't have to do anything; all we have to do is raise a few taxes or just leave it the way it is,' they're not being honest with you. Social Security will go bankrupt and it will bankrupt the country with it. So what it will require is people younger, like myself, people that are 30 years away from retirement, to accept that our Social Security is going to work differently than it did for my parents. For example, instead of retiring at 67 the way I'm supposed to retire, I'd have to retire at 68....If I've made a lot of money, my Social Security benefit will not grow a fast as someone who made less money." Ted Cruz: "Social Security right now is careening towards insolvency, and it's irresponsible.....For younger workers, we need to change the rate of growth of benefits so it matches inflation instead of exceeding inflation. And as you noted Dana, we need to have for younger workers that a portion of your tax payments are in personal accounts like the 401(k) that you own, that you control, that you can pass on to your kids and grandkids." John Kasich: "If you've had wealth throughout your lifetime, when the time comes to be on Social Security, you'll still get it. It will simply be less. And for those people who depend on that Social Security, they'll get their full benefit." Donald Trump: "I will do everything in my power not to touch Social Security....I want to make our country rich again so we can afford it."

If you think the average voter is going to hear that your going to take away programs they've been paying into their entire lives and get absolutely nothing and support that, you don't know people very well.

Eventually we won't have a choice. At some point we have to be realistic and apparently its just going to be the next generation of voters.....too bad they're obsessed with totally realistic things like transgenderism and changing the climate. But that is the entire point Im making here. At least the GOP some times offers up a solution. The Dems are all to happy to not only play into the charade, but make it into a political attack. That is why Trump was unique, he stole the Democrats' thunder there and doubled down on the ponzi scheme. He wanted the senior citizen votes. Freakin boomers and baby boomers have done untold amounts of damage to this country and we'll feel it for decades. All in the name of the govt "helping"

I'd end all of the programs tomorrow, but that isn't anywhere close to possible. The way to manage this (you can't fix a Ponzi scheme) is some mix of the following: (i) raise the retirement age to 70 (ii) do some kind of means testing (iii) abolish the program for people under a certain age (e.g., 30). You stop paying in, you never get anything in the future But even those reforms will never happen, so we just careen towards disaster.
