Pandemic - global conspiracy! Every country's in on it! Vaccines - clot shots designed to kill us all! School shootings - crisis actors every single time designed to steal my guns! Hilary and Obama - lizard people who eat baby glands! A politician is maybe shot by his own supporter after being allowed on a roof by his personal security detail all for an obviously planned photo opp - completely legit!
July 17, 20241 yr Laugh all you want, but I bought these and immediately hit a hole in one (on a par 4) - AND shaved 8 strokes off my round I would imagine wearing these would enable me to be able to deflect bullets as well - or even re-direct them entirely. God I really hope I land one of the randomly autographed pair.

It's not really Biden being power hungry; he's deluded himself into thinking he's the only person that can beat Trump when, in truth, the inanimate carbon rod from The Simpsons would have gotten 81M votes in the 2020 election. People just wanted to be rid of Trump, and now they have amnesia about how bad he was.

No but I'm far less worried about losing black voters if Kamala takes the torch than losing older voters. The VP pick is the one big, real decision that Prez challengers make and Trump completely botched it with Vance, which is wild since he had an easy opportunity to shut the door on the election with the right pick. But thanks to the sheetyness of that pick, a transition to Kamala should keep almost all voters close (along with picking up a lot, which is obviously the point). The only concern is the older folks, which is of course a big concern since they're so reliable. I kind of think if Joe were to step aside Kamala should pick Whitmer. Just double down hard on men vs women. Normally, I'd be against something like that since my core political strategy is always no women, but desperate times. It leans into the abortion issue, into all Trump's Project 2025 Handmaid's Tale sheet. It just makes the lines really clear (and of course it helps in Michigan). Abortion has yet to lose for Dems since Roe fell and it's the biggest wind in their sails in this election. Just lean in as hard as you can.

I'm not opposed to a ticket like that, I think it would be very well positioned to energize the base, I just think the risk is very real a portion of the base becomes embittered and that gets worse the longer this drags on. We're entering week four of this charade and it's increasingly less likely they'd be able to pull this off without looking like they forced him out against his will.

I don't worry too much about that, considering the speed of the news cycle. Any ill will will be long gone by election time. I worry far more about Biden sheeting the bed again in the next debate, only a month or so out from the election.
July 17, 20241 yr The Democrats commitment to self-sabotage is truly unmatched. This either needed to happen quietly and quickly, or they needed to get behind Biden. This is now 4 weeks of stupidity and publicly looking like a clown show.

July 17, 20241 yr people are speculating that there's no way schiff would've come public like this w/o consulting with pelosi first.

July 17, 20241 yr If Biden does decide to drop out they should absolutely wait until the convention before telling anyone and then, mid-speech, smoke should start rising all around him and a hatch should open up behind him and Kamala should rise up with a metal chair in her hand, take him out, grab the mike and finish the speech for him.
