They can't really bypass Harris anyway, regardless who they ended up nominating. Without her name on the ticket, they stand to lose all the campaign money and their apparatus, not to mention the 100% guaranteed efforts of Republican states pulling every dirty trick in the book to keep any new nominee off the ballot.
