I still feel the Bern, but unfortunately, I feel that 2016 was a rare opportunity that has long since passed. Leftists can't help but delude themselves that he's the dark horse we need here. They inhabit their own reality.

It's why he dropped out. It's because of the optics of how it all unfolded. It was basically him caving in to big money donors and party elites. I've seen some of the same sentiment and it's not good, to be sure. The hope is that while they may be upset about it all now, they can get on-board and rally behind Harris sometime between now and November. I don't doubt there will be some who simply choose to stay home regardless, especially if they think it's a lost cause. I think that choice is myopic but it's similar to the sentiment people like you were sharing if he had stayed in. Everything became way too polarizing and fractious almost overnight. Maybe most of the damage can be repaired with a strong speech, whenever he decides to give one. A lot of older people will be looking to see his demeanor and tone to see if he feels it was truly the right choice or one that he made reluctantly. A lot will be riding on that.

He was definitely pushed out. I was listening to a podcast with former Obama staffers and they said he didn't have enough money left to campaign through November and had to drop out ( this was Friday I believe). And while I feel sympathy that his party basically stabbed him in the back, he and Jill brought it on themselves. He is in serious mental decline and they were either intentionally covering it up, or are in complete denial of reality. The people around him had to know. It was foolish to think they could hide it during an entire campaign and then 4 years after that.

Especially older ones.

July 22, 20241 yr I think what convinced him is it clicked that he would lose. Dementia and defiant go hand in hand. As far as denial, that's all part of it too. For many, even the sane won't accept what is happening, or they think they can fix it, and you can't. I really and truly hope none of you have to care for a parent or relative with this disease. It is the absolute worst. Trust me. Thank you, Joe for doing the right thing. I believe he can continue his term, but there was no way he would survive another. He has recently shown signs of further decline.

I'm seeing chatter on the Internet that he had a medical emergency in Vegas and was transported back east for emergency medical care. The stress of all of this may have done him in physically.

I suppose Rehoboth isn't that far away from getting his docs to him.

But the question was, where is this chatter? The chatter you're talking about right now, where did you see it? Presumably, it was in print, not over the phone or just you talking with the orderlies at the nursing home, so post this chatter.
