Give yourself some strange and change hands

This thread needs a little more anger, argument, and trash talk, but it’s got potential.

I like going to the gym in the the morning on weekdays.

Why, you ask?

Because I feel like I am the youngest and the most in shape one there. And I’m…..51!!!

My knee has been effed up for about 6 weeks. Finally went to doc. He thinks maybe a torn meniscus, took out some fluid and gave me a cortisone shot on Monday. Knee feels good as new already. Gonna take it easy a while longer but very encouraged. I'm 55 and have never really had knee trouble to speak of.

Yup - try to do 5 days a week - lifting mixed with HIIT

Had to take a break around thanksgiving until recently due to various illnesses but back to grind this week

About to hit 250 peleton rides on the year

about two months back into lifting and getting some good gains

I, hopefully, will never stop.

Trained chest (15 sets) and abs this morning at the gym. Then 30 minutes on the treadmill, walking, varying the speed and incline.

I skip the cardio and sit in the sauna

My dog tore the meniscus in both knees.  Vet said $5000 per leg for surgery, or hope it heels naturally.  A couple of years later she seems fine.  FWIW.

Never thought about going to a vet, thanks. Maybe I could get the old snip-snip while I'm there.

Go tell the SPCA that you’re adopted and they’ll do that for free.

Just signed up for my sixth Boulder Beast trail marathon. I need a stupid goal like this to commit to cardio.

We are entering the WORST time of the year for going to a gym. Especially in the afternoon/evening. A million new gym members will be there. Who have no gym etiquette, who smell, who are half naked when they should be fully clothed, etc….UGH!!

More like April, from my experiences over the past 10 years or so. But every gym is different, I guess.

It’s almost like they all stay until we turn the clocks ahead in the Spring, when it gets warmer and lighter outside.

Oh well, so far this week I was able to hit the gym around 8:30 am. It was back to a normal weekday morning crowd as the HS and College students all are back at school.

Trained chest (18 sets) this morning and some ab/core work.

I was as much as 240 in the pandemic. Back down under 220 now.  I cut out beer and just started eating less more often.  Also had to get some fiber and whatnot into my body.

Working to get to 200.  I'm 5'11".  So yeah. I was definitely rolly Polly and now I'm more rolly bowly

Embrace the grind. I would like to drop ten to 15 after these holidays. Cutting out alcohol is the biggest piece, as much as that sucks

Same with me.

Not a beer drinker, but I can knock back a few bottles of wine every week. All that sugar is awful for me, but I still am in pretty decent shape for being 51. :showoff:

Since all I talk about is Chipotle, horror movies, pooping, and weiners, many probably would not expect me in this thread.  I'm 41 but have always been a decent, committed weightlifter (since 18 years old) until my 30s (I'd say I averaged about 2-3 times per week at most).  Used to be shredded until about 5 years ago, then I had a daughter, and now I'm semi-shredded with less abs in view.  I'm currently doing a dry January, and I have been crushing the gym 5x per week since beginning of December again at lunch.  Simple routine that I've always followed, and I think my metabolism helps quite a bit since I eat like sheet:  Chest, back, shoulders, leg day, arms (5 days schedule) with abs twice, calves twice, and shrugs twice.

Going to @olsilverhair's trailer to work out in the nude to Sweatin' to the Oldies doesn't count as crushing the gym, Richard Simmons!

Just ate a pizza burger and sheet ton of fries.

That sounds amazing.  I haven't had a pizza burger in 20 years, because they don't exist down here.  I like where this thread is going.  By the way, for any Moe's fans, is that place shutting down?  I found 3 locations in Charlotte that were shut down in the last year.

My diet isn’t awful, but it’s not really that great either. LOL. A lot of protein. Not enough veggies or fruit though.

If I eat crap food, it’s usually only once a week. But man does it catch up to us the older we get.

Once I turned 40 or so, that’s when I started to notice my weight increasing, and also my strength decreasing. UGH.
