One thing going for Hurts is the great chemistry he has with Devonta and AJ.

Howie not only gave Hurts his college WR but also his best friend. I mean what else can a man do to give u the right weapons to succeed.

He gave him his center too.. even though he’s our guard now. 😄

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Dickerson didn't come to Alabama until 2019, the same time that Hurts transferred to Oklahoma.  They never played together until last year with the Eagles.

Shhhh you're interrupting the legend of Hurts. All folklore comes with bending on the truth

Apologies, remembered that wrong.

OL won the game but the threat of him running made a difference.

That INT was a horrible decision, don't care if it was tipped. He was late on a few throws, but also fell victim to some bad drops.

But other than that, Hurts played well all things considered, protected the ball and still managed to throw for 200 yards in a F'in monsoon.

It was a rain storm and they got down 14 quick.  He never looked rattled.  He never looked scared and never lost composure.  The Pick 6 should have been thrown out of bounds but was more of a deflection just like the last pick.   Overall it was hard to get air yards but Jalen still got some with AJ and Dallas.   Also added to the running game with Miles.    Jalen already said every week this Offense could have a Different Star.  This week it was about Miles, Jalen and the running game with the weather being as bad as it was.   But good start 4-0 for the 2nd Best Start in Eagles History since the Donovan Era 2004 Team.   Not bad for a 2nd round pick right?  Let's keep it going.

*Jalen ties Donovan Mcnabb since 2004 Team leading  the most wins to start an Eagles Season.

Jalen and Doug meet again.

Very impressed.  He had a slow start which seems to happen in first 5 passes or so but doesn't let it phase him and steadies the ship

It won't go down as a great statistical performance for obvious reasons, but Hurts did well with the throws he did have to make. This game was one where it was best to let the run game shine, and they did.

You grade this game on the win and on the monsoon conditions. The other good QB was a turnover machine today. Allen and Lamar had mistakes in the slop too. Fault him for the tipped pick and credit him extra on the drops.

Made big throws when he had to. Took the ball himself and got us back into after being down 14-0. The int was a forced pass, but I think that was his only bad decision of the day. One thing I’ll say about Hurts is that his short passing game is pretty damn accurate. His screen passing is nice and that’s really what I think opened up the running game in the beginning for us

It was ugly passing, but that’s a good point.  Of the slop weather qbs (Allen, Jackson, Lawrence, Hurts), Hurts probably had the best game.

We had a QB here for years who could not throw 0-10 yard range passes with touch. It was so frustrating. I can't name him or people will pretend he was great at that and the tears will flow.

If Hurts played like Lawrence today TATE would be in meltdown mode

That was Lawrence's toughest game all year. For Hurts it was a Sunday.

The first two could be easily blamed on weather dropping the ball. The pick was all on him and was bad. The strip was the Eagles playing well. Luck favored the Eagles today because those first two got them in the game. In dry conditions it could have been different, but it worked out. Hurts relapsed for the INT and wasn't amazingly on point the rest of the game but in the conditions he was close enough. The star of the game was the OL blocking. Jax couldn't shut them down and the threat of Hurts running opened things up even more.

Even with the bad decision and throw yesterday, I think it was another arrow up game for Hurts.  Given the conditions and the loss of some players up front, he did well to help rally the team back.

Definitely, it was a hard-fought game in bad conditions. It's good to see that he can recover from a shaky start and pull out a close one when facing adversity. All around, I think this was a great, character-building win.

I like how he shrugged off the INT immediately.

The star of the game was turnovers. √

1. OL/DL

2. Hurts being a threat to run freezing the D

3. Turnovers

Turnovers opened the door, but the others got it done and put points on the board/got the turnovers.

Like I said-

#1. Turnovers.

And who got most of those turnovers...the DL. Who drove them down the field opening big holes to convert the turnovers into points? The OL. Turnovers mean nothing unless you get the ball across the line. Hurts also played a big part in that. The end.

Perhaps this being a little bit of an exaggeration would get people more bummed than having to run to his defense.  Yes, he'd often put heat unnecessarily on a short pass.   But at the same time, he threw MANY successful screens to Westbrook and company, as well as crossing passes to Celek.  I'm a big fan of that guy, hence my avatar, and I think he got a raw deal from SOME of the fans. I never would consider him great, and am on record stating he won't make Canton. I do think he was above average and took this team to high level without a ton of offensive playmakers.

I thought he was referencing Mike Vick.  That guy only threw missles, never floated a pass.

Look at it another way: who would you take straight up in a trade for Hurts at this moment in time - set aside realities like cap space and all that, this is just an academic question. One for one, who would you take?

Mahomes and Jackson.
Burrow and Herbert, probably.
After that?
Wilson? No thanks.  Brady or Rodgers?  Kyler Murray?

Good teams win ugly games like yesterday in bad conditions and this team has taken on the personality of it's quarterback.
